Abstract: Various embodiments illustrated herein disclose a radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader having a first RFID tag having a first antenna element operating at a first transmit power. The first RFID tag receives, in a first time interval, a first interrogation command from a first RFID reader through the first antenna element. The first RFID tag transmits, in the first time interval, a first response signal to the first RFID reader. The RFID reader comprises a second antenna element that operates at a second transmit power and a processor communicatively coupled to the second antenna element. The processor transmits, in the first time interval, a second interrogation command to one or more second RFID tags through the second antenna element. The first RFID tag transmits, in a second time interval, a third interrogation command to a first RFID tag of a second RFID reader through the first antenna element.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for tracking and monitoring sets of assets in or on a container using RFID-RF tags associated with the assets. The system comprises a specimen holder bin or similar container and a wireless tag affixed to the specimen holder bin. The specimen bin holder is configured to hold a plurality of assets. The wireless tag comprises a radio frequency identifier (RFID) circuit, a radio frequency (RF) circuit, a processor, a memory storing an identifier (ID) associated with the RFID circuit, and an energy source electrically connected to the RFID circuit, the RF circuit, and the processor. The wireless tag is configured to broadcast the identifier associated with the RFID circuit responsive to an interrogation signal by one or more gateways associated with the system. In some embodiments, each asset of the plurality of assets additionally comprises an RFID tag.

Abstract: A system for locating a RFID tag in a space or area having a physical barrier is disclosed herein. More specifically, the system comprises a plurality of guard tags for use in conjunction with a RFID tag disposed on an item and a RFID reader for locating the same. The system is configured to locate the RFID tag on either side of the physical barrier. The plurality of guard tags may comprise a plurality of negative encoded guard tags and a plurality of positive encoded guard tags, and an algorithm may be used to determine a probability of the RFID tag location within the physical space. A method of locating a RFID tag within a physical space, and a method of virtually shielding the physical space is also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein provide a system for an improved inventory system using RFID information. A first user device may initiate a team scanning session and a second user device may join the team scanning session. RFID scan data received by each of the first user device and the second user device may be filtered, aggregated, and sent to an inventory system using a first IoT topic. An inventory list for the team scanning session may be updated with the information provided by each of the first and second user devices and published to each of the user devices using a second IoT topic. Additional RFID scan data received by each user device may trigger an indication to the user that a particular RFID scan data had not yet been scanned during the team scanning session.
