Abstract:
Devices such a printer 4, television 3 and car door lock 2 are controlled wirelessly by a controller 5 which may consist of eye tracking glasses that detect the gaze angle of the user also include an orientation detector that receives rf packets from the devices, from which the orientation of the device can be detected. Control of the devices is performed wirelessly when the detected orientation of the device and the gaze detection angle adopt a predetermined relationship, for example when they become aligned.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) for use in a smart home control system is provided. The UE includes a beam forming device configured to transmit a directional signal beam to an electronic device. The directional signal beam includes a credential associated with the UE. The UE also includes a transmitter configured to transmit a command signal including the credential after the beam forming device transmits the directional signal beam to the electronic device. The command signal commands an operation of the electronic device. The UE further includes an input device. The input device is configured to receive a directional signal beam generating input to initiate the transmission of the signal beam. The input device is also configured to receive a command input to initiate the transmission of the command signal.
Abstract:
A pointing device and a controlling method thereof are provided. The controlling method of the pointing device includes transmitting an identification signal to an external device that is targeted by the pointing device according to a user input, receiving a reflected signal that is generated by reflecting the identification signal from a reflective surface attached to a surface of the external device, and analyzing the reflected signal and identifying the external device.
Abstract:
Various arrangements for presenting contextual menus are presented. A mobile device may be configured to provide contextual menus for control or monitoring of components. Different menus and interfaces are presented based the position of the mobile device or objects being pointed at using the mobile device. Specific objects may be designated as control markers. The objects may be recognized using a camera of the mobile device. When a control marker is recognized a specific menu or interface that is associated with the control marker may be presented to the user.
Abstract:
A universal remote control device effects a same function on a plurality of different remotely controlled devices. The device has a housing, an actuator within the housing, a database of encoded signals for effecting the same function on the plurality of different remotely controlled devices; and a signal emitter configured to emit the encoded signals so as to effect the same function for each of the plurality of different devices in response to actuation of the actuator with no more than ½ second between each encoded signal.
Abstract:
A display apparatus includes a display which displays a plurality of items, a communicator which receives a pointing signal from a remote control apparatus, a recognizer which recognizes at least one of a voice command and a gesture, and a processor which selects one item among the plurality of items based on at least one of the pointing signal and the gesture, and in response to receiving the voice command regarding the selected one item, performs a control operation based on a keyword extracted to execute the voice command.
Abstract:
A method for an electronic device configured to control a display device by using a watermark is provided. The method includes receiving a captured image of the display device from a remote control device, extracting a watermark from the captured image, acquiring a menu for the display device based on the watermark, and transmitting the menu to the remote control device for controlling the display device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to selecting a light source from a plurality of light sources, particularly to the selecting of a light source by pointing to it with a light source selection device. An embodiment of the invention relates to a light source selection device (10) comprising—at least one photosensor (36, 38, 40) with a field of view (20, 22, 24), wherein light (26, 28, 30) from one or more light sources (32, 34) may be received by the photosensor within the field of view, and—a photosensor output signal processing unit (42) being adapted to select one or more light sources by processing the light received by each photosensor. The present invention may be for example used to select appliances or devices or objects provided with the ability to transmit coded light in the ultra violet, visible or infra red spectra, for example lights, climate, curtains, kitchenware, etc.
Abstract:
A remote controller includes a housing, a direction sensor, a microphone, a controller, and a wireless transmitter. A control method of the remote controller includes detecting an angle between an axis of a remote controller and a vertical axis, enabling a microphone of the remote controller when the angle is within a predetermined range in order to generate a voice signal according to a voice command, and generating a first control signal according the voice signal and transmit the first control signal wirelessly.
Abstract:
The present relates to a remote control method and a remote control system capable of switching different pointing modes. The remote control method includes a first wireless transmission module transmitting a first wireless signal with a first pointing mode code to an electronic device, a second wireless transmission module transmitting a second wireless signal with a second pointing mode code to the electronic device, and the electronic device performing movement of an icon at a first pointing mode or at a second pointing mode according to the received first pointing mode code or the received second pointing mode code and pointing mode relation information.
