Abstract:
The disclosed vehicle occupant detecting system may comprise a three-dimensional surface profile detector, a digitizer, a storage device, a position detector, and a processor. The three-dimensional surface profile detector is may detect a three-dimensional surface profile of a vehicle occupant from a single view point. The digitizer may digitize the three-dimensional surface profile into a numerical coordinate system. The storage device may have previously stored information of features on a stored three-dimensional surface profile of a plurality of regions of a human body. The position detector detects information about one or more positions of the vehicle occupant by correlating the numerical coordinate system to the previously stored information of the features. The processor computes a distance between predetermined regions and derives a physique of the vehicle occupant, determines whether or not the vehicle occupant sits in the vehicle seat in a normal state, or a combination thereof.
Abstract:
An object detecting system for detecting information about objects on vehicle seats utilizes a camera having a single view point, which is effective for conducting a rationalized setting for the viewing field of the camera. According to the setting for the viewing field of the camera in an object detecting system which is installed in a vehicle, respective halves of the object on the driver seat and the object on the front passenger seat are covered by the viewing field of the camera.
Abstract:
In a camera module of a so-called multi-chip type, an imaging device and a semiconductor element for processing are mounted. The semiconductor element is encapsulated by a mold resin. Protruding parts are formed by the mold resin on a mounting surface of the mold resin. A metal film forming a pattern wiring is formed on the mounting surface of the mold resin. The metal film is also formed on the protruding parts so as to constitute external connection terminals together with the protruding parts. Electrodes of the semiconductor element are electrically connected to the pattern wiring. The protruding parts include first protruding parts positioned around the semiconductor element and second protruding parts formed in a mounting area of the semiconductor element on the mounting surface.
Abstract:
The fuel cell system 1 has a reformer 2 and a fuel cell 3. The reformer 2 has a reforming reaction channel 21 that generates a hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga and a heat exchange channel 22 for heating. The fuel cell 3 has an anode channel 32 to which the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga is supplied, a cathode channel 33 to which an oxygen-containing gas Gc is supplied, and an electrolyte 31 formed between them. The electrolyte 31 is a laminate of a hydrogen-separating metal layer 311 and a proton conductor layer 312. The fuel cell system 1 has a cathode offgas line 46 for feeding the cathode offgas Oc discharged from the cathode channel 33 to the reforming reaction channel 21.
Abstract:
A convenient and commonly applicable method for the specific detection of a nucleic acid with an arbitrary sequence is provide. This method comprises attaching at least a nucleic acid single strand to an electrode, bringing the thus-obtained modified electrode in contact with a solution containing the analyte single-stranded nucleic acid, and measuring the redox reaction of the redox marker.
Abstract:
A collision detecting device providing the accurate and early determination of a collision with a vehicle or the like, and a passive safety system using this collision detecting device. A low-rigid portion and a crash box are arranged ahead of a high-rigid portion in a front portion of a frame. The front end of a rod is fixed to a bumper. The rod is inserted into a magnetic detector disposed on the high-rigid portion. In the rod, a number of magnets are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the rod such that their N poles and S poles are alternatively arranged. As a vehicle collides, the crash box is first deformed so that the rod moves backward, whereby a collision can be detected before large acceleration is generated.
Abstract:
A transmission power control apparatus that has several transmission power control sections and a central processing section. The transmission power control sections are divided into a first transmission power control section and a group of second transmission power control sections. The central processing section selects the first transmission power control section and sets a basic code in response to generation of a call upon multi-code connection while setting subordinate codes for the second transmission power control sections. The first transmission power control section performs downstream transmission power control in accordance with the state of communication with a mobile unit and notifies the central processing section of a control result. The central processing section notifies all the second transmission power control section of the notified control result. The second transmission power control section performs downstream transmission power control on a self-channel on the basis of the notified control result.
Abstract:
With the aim of offering a video display technique by which stable and high contrast video images are reproduced, contrast adjusting circuitry is constructed. The contrast adjusting circuitry detects a maximum picture level (MPL) and an average picture level (APL) of analog-to-digital converted luminance signals for a predetermined period, determines one of the predefined luminance regions within which the MPL falls and one of the predefined luminance regions within which the APL falls, and, based on the thus determined luminance regions of both MPL and APL, carries out a contrast adjustment of video images by changing the gain of luminance signals and color depth correction by changing the gain of color signals.
Abstract:
To provide a seat weight measuring apparatus having advantages such as reduced production cost and assembling cost. The seat weight measuring apparatus comprises a seat frame for supporting the seat and a load sensor attached on the seat frame. The seat frame is provided with blocks respectively on the lower surfaces of the front ends of the left and right seat rails fixed thereon, and vehicle body mounting brackets are pivotally connected to the blocks. A load sensor is disposed under the front end of the load transmitting plate of the rear frame mounted on the rear ends of the seat rails. In the seat weight measuring apparatus in such a structure, the seat weight is supported at three points of; the pivotally connected portions at the front ends on the left and right sides and the load sensor at the rear center so as to be horizontal with respect to the floor of the vehicle body. Since there is provided a single load sensor, the production cost and the assembling/wiring cost are reduced in comparison with the related art.
Abstract:
A tone hole pad to close a tone hole of a musical wind instrument is mounted in a cup having a bottom portion and a wall portion. A circular metallic base has a diameter substantially the same as the inside diameter of the wall portion of the cup and is brazed to the bottom surface thereof. The metallic base has a plurality of holes formed at regular intervals between the stem portion and the periphery of the surface thereof. A peripheral portion of the rear surface is beveled to conform to a curved portion of the inside bottom portion of the metal cup. A metallic holder, having an outside diameter substantially the same as the inside diameter of the wall portion of the cup, is provided with a wall portion with a lip which curves inward to prevent the pad's surface from floating and a ring-shaped recess formed in the peripheral upper surface thereof having an inside diameter smaller than the tone hole. A pad assembly of a felt body and an elastic resin plate is inserted in the metallic holder, mounted on the metallic base together with a mount paper, and fixed by a pad washer and a bolt.
