Abstract:
Various aspects related to frequency biasing to compensate for frequency variations caused by Doppler shift in V2V communication systems are described. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus, e.g., a UE, may be configured to determine a velocity of the apparatus, and determine a frequency biasing adjustment based on the determined velocity of the apparatus. The apparatus may be further configured to communicate with UE based on an adjusted carrier frequency determined based on a carrier frequency and the determined frequency biasing adjustment. In some configurations, a driving environment of the apparatus maybe considered, and the frequency biasing adjustment is determined further based on the determined driving environment.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for configuring an adaptive frame structure for wireless communications systems using unlicensed radio frequency spectrum. A base station (BS) may determine whether another device is transmitting on a channel in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum or one or more other network conditions pertaining to the channel, determine a frame structure from a plurality of frame structures used for data communications based at least in part on the one or more network conditions, wherein each of the plurality of frame structures has a different frame duration, and communicate with a user equipment (UE) using the determined frame structure. A UE may determine a frame structure from a plurality of frame structures used for data communications, wherein each of the plurality of frame structures has a different frame duration, and communicate with a BS using the determined frame structure.
Abstract:
In wireless communication systems that support 5G or NR protocols, subframes used for communication may have different numerology options. Numerology options may refer to the characteristics of the subframe such as a tone spacing within each symbol of the subframe, a symbol duration for each symbol of the subframe, a number of symbols in the subframe, etc. A subframe may include a control channel (e.g., the PDCCH) and a data channel (e.g., the PDSCH). In an aspect, the control channel and the data channel within the subframe may have different numerologies. As such, a need exists to signal the numerology of the subframe to users and to determine whether and how to multiplex the control channel and the data channel into the subframe.
Abstract:
An example data structure for managing user equipment communications in a wireless communications system is presented, as well as methods and apparatuses configured to implement the data structure. For instance, the data structure may include a downlink subframe comprising two slots and including one or more quick downlink channels having a single-slot transmission time interval. In addition, the example data structure may include one or more resource element blocks each comprising one or more resource elements into which a frequency bandwidth is divided within one or both of the two slots, wherein each of the one or more resource element blocks comprises a control channel region or a data channel region. Furthermore, the example data structure may include one or more resource grants, located within one or more control channel regions, for one or more user equipment served by the one or more quick downlink channels.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus transitions to a dormant state and transmits a very low duty cycle signal (LDCS) while in the dormant state. The apparatus may transmit an LDCS configuration to a second entity, the second entity being one of an LPN that is not in a dormant state and a macro cell. The apparatus may further monitor for a RACH messages at a predetermined RACH delay after transmitting the LDCS. The apparatus may transition to a DRX/DTX mode. The DRX/DTX mode may be matched to at least one connected UE.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives an LDCS configuration for a UE relay from a second entity and monitors for an LDCS from the UE relay based on the received LDCS configuration. The second entity may comprise one of an LPN that is not in a dormant state and a Macro cell. The apparatus may receive LDCS configurations for a plurality of LPNs and monitor for a plurality of LPNs based on the received LDCS configurations. When the apparatus determines a need to connect to a LPN, the apparatus may select an LPN among the plurality of LPNs.
Abstract:
Various aspects related to techniques for harmonization between common reference signal (CRS) and demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) based transmission modes (TMs) in unlicensed spectrum are described. In one aspect, a downlink/uplink (DL/UL) subframe configuration may be signaled for each subframe. Information provided by the DL/UL subframe configuration may indicate whether the respective downlink subframe is a single-frequency network (MBSFN) subframe (associated with DM-RS-based TM) or a non-MBSFN subframe (associated with CRS-based TM). In another aspect, periodic as well as aperiodic channel state information (CSI) reporting requests may be supported. In yet another aspect, discontinued reception (DRX) wake ups for unlicensed carriers may be explicitly or implicitly indicated to a user equipment (UE) via a carrier in a licensed spectrum.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication for an enhanced new carrier type cell includes transmitting downlink common signals and channels at a low duty cycle while in a dormant state. The method also includes transmitting downlink common signals and channels at a high duty cycle while in an active state. Another method of wireless communication includes receiving a trigger; and switching a cell between an active state and a dormant state based on the received trigger.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for delivering content to end user via shared broadcast are provided. The apparatus may be a UE that determines to acquire a MBMS service. The UE tunes to a frequency provided by a first MNO to which the UE is not a subscriber in order to receive the MBMS service via a carrier shared by the first MNO and at least one other MNO. The UE receives the MBMS service on the frequency via the carrier shared by the first MNO and the at least one other MNO. The shared carrier may have a common SFN timing with respect to the first MNO and the at least one other MNO. The shared carrier may include a shared MBMS SDL carrier. The shared carrier may include a standalone shared carrier for receiving the MBMS service and control information associated with the MBMS service.
Abstract:
Certain aspects relate to methods and apparatus for latency reduction for UEs in a RRC connected mode. During contention-based uplink access by groups of UEs within a subframe, an eNB may decode the received uplink transmission based, at least in part, on the assigned group of resources assigned to the UE and used for transmission. Additional orthogonalization techniques such as reduced TTI size can be used to reduce collisions among different users performing contention-based transmissions. Furthermore, when the eNB fails to successfully decode the uplink transmission, the eNB may identify the UE that sent the uplink transmission based on a detected reference signal and may transmit an uplink assignment to the identified UE.
