Abstract:
A gas removal system that removes a halogen gas remaining inside a processing chamber after executing a specific type of processing inside the processing chamber maintained in an airtight state with plasma obtained through discharge dissociation of the halogen gas supplied from a gas supply device comprises a pressure control device that controls the pressure inside the processing chamber, an air supply device that supplies the atmospheric air into the processing chamber after the pressure inside the processing chamber is lowered by the pressure control device, a control device that controls the air supply device and an evacuation device that evacuates a gas produced through a reaction of the halogen gas and the atmospheric air having occurred inside the processing chamber.
Abstract:
An assembly and a method for providing a sterile connection between a vessel and a bag. The assembly includes a previously sterilized bag connected to tubing which is clamped closed. The tubing is connected to the vessel. The vessel and the tubing distally of the clamp are sterilized together. The clamp is then opened to allow material to pass from the vessel to the bag in a sterile environment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of a high intensity, in-line rotor-stator apparatus to produce fine particles via antisolvent, reactive, salting out or rapid cooling precipitation and crystallization.
Abstract:
A reaction apparatus comprises a first supply flow channel having a fine flow channel cross sectional area for a liquid pressurized by a pressurizing device, a gas supply flow channel having a fine flow channel cross sectional area for supplying a gas, a two-phase flow channel having a fine flow channel cross sectional area in communication with a joined portion for the first supply flow channel and the second supply flow channel for flowing a gas/liquid two-phase fluid, a gas bubble reaction flow channel in communication with the exit of the gas/liquid two-phase channel and having a flow channel cross sectional area larger than that of the gas/liquid two-phase flow channel, and a liquid discharge flow channel for discharging the liquid in the gas bubble reaction flow channel. Therefore, in the reaction apparatus, a stable mixing ratio of a gas to a liquid can be obtained and the mixing speed of the gas to the liquid is increased.
Abstract:
A method for upgrading a hydrocarbon in which an oxygen source and a hydrogen source are ignited and the resulting synthetic gas is used to initiate a predominantly gas phase heavy oil upgrade reaction. The upgrade reaction is quenched with an additional source of un-upgraded hydrocarbon.
Abstract:
A novel method for bending tubes suitable for use in high-purity fluid handling systems includes selecting a tube made from a material having a grain-size number of at least 5, and forming a bend in the tube with a bend radius of greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the tube. Tubes bent according to the present invention are incorporated into high-purity systems as supply lines, product lines, and vacuum forelines, without the need for post-bend heat treatment or polishing.
Abstract:
A fluid inlet device for introducing a mixture of liquid and gas into a column provided with an inlet nozzle and with a horizontal gas/liquid contact tray arranged in the column below the inlet nozzle provided with a number of elongated downcomers between which bubbling areas are located, which inlet device consists of an inlet end that is in fluid communication with the inlet nozzle and a number of vertical vanes placed one behind the other, wherein each vane consists of two interconnected parts, an intercepting part and an outwardly directed deflecting part, wherein the intercepting part extends to the inlet end of the inlet device, and wherein an outlet channel defined by the deflecting parts of two adjacent vanes opens above a bubbling area of the contact tray.
Abstract:
An apparatus for introducing a fluid into a container includes a supply leading into the interior of the container, closed by a bursting disk and connected to a supply line for the fluid. In order to increase the operational safety and to avoid clogging of the bursting disk, the supply is in the form of a telescopic tube which can be extended by the pressure of the fluid into the interior of the container and is mounted above the highest level in the container.
Abstract:
Prior to carrying out a gaseous phase chemical reaction, a liquid phase organic compound which is prone to degrade is vaporized at elevated pressures with the aid of a second compound. In one embodiment of the invention, vaporization is effected by co-vaporizing a mixture of the two compounds in a vaporizer. In another embodiment, the first compound is injected into a hot gaseous stream and undergoes atomization into droplets which then vaporize within the gaseous stream. The second compound is used to assist the atomization process and/or to sweep atomized droplets of the first compound away from hot surfaces where the first compound would otherwise tend to undergo degradation if the droplets are allowed to reside in contact with such surfaces.
Abstract:
A valve is provided including a body made of anaerobic, reactive fluid resistant material. The valve also directs pressurized fluid in a substantially planar manner between adjacent port holes on a recessed area of a fluid body section of the valve. The flexible diaphragm can be actuated manually or programmed to dispense pressurized fluid, such as cyanoacrylate fluid. A method of dispensing anaerobic, reactive material is also provided.
