Abstract: A continuous falling film reactor includes a reactor body including chambers for a reaction between first and second reagents. The chambers have a respective inner surface, for the sliding of the first reagent in the form of a thin film, or layer, a device for introducing the first reagent, in particular in the liquid phase, especially in the form of an organic raw material, into the respective chamber and a device for inputting the second reagent, in particular in the gaseous phase, especially in the form of sulphuric anhydride, in the respective one of the chambers. A head introduces the first reagent, in the respective chamber, which head—includes a corresponding nozzle so calibrated to cause a predetermined load loss of said first reagent.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a chemical feed distributor may include a chemical feed inlet and a body. Abstract: Processes and systems for dehydrogenating ethylbenzene may include mixing a steam stream and an ethylbenzene stream to form a feed mixture. The ethylbenzene/steam feed mixture may then be fed to a dehydrogenation reactor containing an alkali metal promoted catalyst. A liquid, selected from an alkali metal liquid, an alkali metal compound liquid, or a liquid solution comprising an alkali metal, may be injected into a feed stream, such as the steam stream, the ethylbenzene stream, or the ethylbenzene/steam feed mixture. Following injection, the liquid vaporizes and disperses into the feed stream upstream of the dehydrogenation reactor. The liquid may be maintained as a liquid from a point upstream of injection to an injection nozzle. The liquid is dispersed through the injection nozzle, in liquid form, to form droplets of liquid dispersed in the feed stream, which evaporate and/or dissolve into the vaporous feed stream.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for mixing and atomizing a hydrocarbon stream is disclosed. The apparatus comprises of an inner conduit having a first inlet for receiving the hydrocarbon stream, and a second inlet for receiving a primary dispersion stream. The inner conduit produces a primary mixture comprising the hydrocarbon stream and the primary dispersion stream. The apparatus further includes an outer conduit having a third inlet for receiving a secondary dispersion stream. Further, said inner and outer conduits together define an annular passage. The distal end of the annular passage defines a second set of orifices for allowing the secondary dispersion stream flowing there-through to come in contact with the primary mixture and thereby dispensing the secondary mixture so obtained through an outlet.

Abstract: A vessel header includes lateral flow tubes arranged in a parallel configuration. The lateral flow tubes enter the vessel header through alternating vessel header penetrations with a single vessel header penetration per lateral flow tube. Each lateral flow tube has a perforated section within the vessel header having a non-circular cross-section having the shape of a circular sector, an elliptical sector, or an irregular quadrilateral. A method includes passing a molten polymer through the lateral flow tubes of the vessel header. The molten polymer exits the lateral flow tubes as strands through perforations in the lateral flow tubes within the vessel header. The method includes obtaining devolatilized polymer.

A polysilicon manufacturing apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a reactor provided on a base and forming a reaction chamber; a pair of feedthroughs provided in the base and extending into the reaction chamber; rod filaments provided in the feedthroughs in the reaction chamber, connected with each other at upper ends thereof through a rod bridge, and where a silicon rod of polysilicon is formed from a raw material gas through a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process; and cooling spray nozzles spraying a cooling gas to the silicon rod formed as silicon deposited around the rod bridge and the rod filaments.

The assembly comprises a tandem filter system with one or more high pressure filters, one or more low pressure filters and one or more collection vessel. Particles can be prepared, harvested and collected continuously, semi-continuously or in a batch-type operation. A tandem filter system and its method of use are also disclosed. Particles made with the assembly and according the instant methods are also disclosed. The assembly provides improved particle harvesting and collection over other systems and permits continuous particle formation, in particular by dispersion of a solute-containing process fluid within a supercritical anti-solvent.

Abstract: A heat generating system comprises two or more thermal reactors. During operation, a first thermal reactor is pressurized while a second thermal reactor is depressurized to vent unused gas and byproduct. The unused gas and byproduct from the second reactor are separated in a gas separator and the unused gas is supplied to the first reactor while the first reactor is pressurized. An exothermic reaction is triggered in the first reactor, which results in generation of heat and byproduct cluster formation. When the exothermic reaction is complete, the process is reversed and the second thermal reactor is pressurized while the first reactor is depressurized.
