Abstract:
Devices are provided comprising one or more insulated hollow vertical pipes inserted into a bed of soil, each pipe having a descending and an ascending conductive element forming a loop within the interior of the pipe. A plurality of such vertical pipes can be attached to a straight pipe, forming a two dimensional array of vertical pipes, in which the loops are connected in series. Further, a series of such one-dimensional straight pipes can be attached together to provide a two-dimensional array. When vertical pipes are inserted into the bed of soil and an electrical current applied to the array, one or more magnetic fields is produced within the bed and parallel to the surface of the bed. The magnetic fields so produced impede downward flow of ionic fertilizers into the ground water, and retaining the fertilizer near growing plants when the bed is irrigated.

A separator comprises a housing and a separator chamber contained within the housing, an inlet and outlet to the separator chamber and a dividing member for substantially dividing the separator chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber. A flow path is provided between the first and second chambers for allowing flow to circulate between the first and second chambers, and guide means for creating opposing flow paths in the second chamber for slowing flow through the second chamber.
Abstract:
A water purification process for treating water containing at least some organic contaminants, and including the steps of pre-treating the water for capturing organic contaminants from solution in a water stream, by passing the water into a spin up bowl to speed up the water stream, forcing the high speed stream through an annular flow passage located centrally of the spin up bowl, passing the high velocity stream between a magnetic member and a magnetic ring, thereafter passing the water stream into an energy recovery bowl, directing the flow from the flow passage onto a zinc anode member; and thereafter passing the water stream along a grounded pipe, thereby causing the development if fine particles of calcium carbonates, and capturing the organic contaminants

A magnetic separator for a central heating system comprises a housing, a separation chamber within the housing, and inlet and outlet ports extending from the housing. The inlet and outlet ports include push-fit connectors having collets surrounding the mouth of each of the inlet and outlet for releasing the connectors. The magnetic separator also has a release tool. The release tool has first and second bearing areas for bearing against the collets of the inlet and outlet connectors, and a handle region for enabling force to be applied, via the bearing areas, to both connectors simultaneously.
Abstract:
An ozone generator (1) is presented comprising a body (2), a first electrode (4), a second electrode (6), an elongate channel within the body extending between the first and second electrodes, an inlet (10) and an outlet (12); the elongate channel being in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet; the elongate channel isolated from each of the first and second electrodes by a respective dielectric layer (22, 24), whereby an electric field can be generated across the elongate channel between the first and second electrodes. The presented ozone generator allows small quantities of ozone to be produced for use in small scale water treatment. In addition, a method of producing ozone is presented using an ozone generator according to the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system for prevention of adhesion of organisms in water to a substrate in contact with the water, wherein the substrate and the water flowing around the substrate form together a treated region, comprising a generator for producing electromagnetic wave having a time varying frequency, in electrical connection with a first excitation site of the treated region and with an avalanche current suppressor having its another terminal connected with a second excitation site of the treated region. A selected voltage is applied to the generator such that the generator is triggered to produce the electromagnetic wave capable of inducing an avalanche current to shock or kill the organisms. The invention also provides a method for prevention of adhesion of organisms in water to a substrate in contact with the water.
Abstract:
A separator device for removing particles from suspension in a liquid includes a housing having first and second chambers with apertures for ingress and egress of liquid into the first chamber. Means are provided for setting up a swirl of liquid within the first chamber. Apertures enable flow of liquid between the first chamber and the second chamber. Means are also provided for setting up a swirl of liquid within the second chamber. The swirl in the second chamber is in substantially the opposite direction to the swirl in the first chamber, and there is no substantial flow in the second chamber which is in the same direction as the swirl in the first chamber.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing green-energy water, including: conducting water flow through a self-support visible-light photocatalytic reaction device, which decomposes the water into hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions; conducting the hydrogen ions and the hydroxide ions through an ion separation device, which separates the hydrogen ions and the hydroxide ions from each other; and conducting the separated hydroxide ions into an amount of water to form an amount of alkaline green-energy water and conducting the separated hydrogen ions into another amount of water to form an amount of acidulous green-energy water. The green-energy water manufactured in this way is environmentally friendly and can be used in cleaning purposes of photoelectric and semiconductor industries, processing of waste water, organic cultivation, organic agriculture, purification of water, sterilization of medical facility.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for increasing dissolved oxygen levels in a liquid. An oxygenation system (100) includes a liquid source (102) from which liquid is introduced into a piping network (106) by a pump (104). Colloidal minerals are injected into the liquid in a dwell chamber (110). The mixture of liquid and minerals flows into an oxygenator (118) where gaseous oxygen is injected into the liquid. The resulting two-phase flow stream is accelerated to supersonic speeds through a linear flow accelerator (126) comprising a flat Venturi (130) and electromagnets (128) positioned adjacent the flat Venturi. The electromagnets generate an electromagnetic field to exert a force on the two-phase mixture in the direction of the flow. The flow stream then passes through a laminar flow grid (132) to remove turbulence, after which the oxygenated liquid is bottled at a bottling system (134).
