Abstract: A connection having at least one double-walled pipe of stainless steel connected to an LNG tank is disclosed, the LNG tank having an inner shell of stainless steel and an outer shell spaced at a distance from the inner shell, the inner and outer shells defining an isolation space therebetween. The at least one double-walled pipe includes a common outer wall and at least one inner pipe. The outer wall of the pipe is connected to the inner shell of the tank in such a way that the outer wall and/or a pipe fitting of cold resistant material between the inner shell and the outer wall is arranged to compensate for changes in the length of the outer wall of the pipe and/or of the pipe fitting due to temperature differences between the outer wall of the pipe and the inner shell of the tank.

Abstract: Unconstrained rotational movement of an inner vessel with respect to an outer vessel at one end of a cryogenic storage vessel increases stress in supports at an opposite end. A storage vessel for holding a cryogenic fluid comprises an inner vessel defining a cryogen space and having a longitudinal axis, and an outer vessel spaced apart from and surrounding the inner vessel, defining a thermally insulating space between the inner and outer vessels. A structure for supporting the inner vessel within the outer vessel at one end comprises an inner vessel support bracket connected with the inner vessel, an outer vessel support bracket connected with the outer vessel, and an elongated support extending between and mutually engaging the inner and outer support brackets to constrain radial and rotational movement of the inner vessel with respect to the outer vessel and to allow axial movement of the inner vessel with respect to the outer vessel along the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A system for loading and storing CNG onboard of a ship and for unloading it therefrom comprises CNG loading facilities for loading CNG on board of the ship, CNG storage facilities for storing the loaded CNG on board of the ship at nominal storage pressure and temperature, and CNG unloading facilities for unloading CNG to a delivery point. The delivery point requires the unloaded CNG to be at delivery pressure and temperature generally different from the storage pressure and temperature. Thus, the CNG unloading facilities comprise a CNG heater for heating the to-be-unloaded CNG prior to unloading, and a lamination valve for allowing the to-be-unloaded CNG to expand from its storage pressure to the delivery pressure. A compressor may also be provided to compress CNG that would not otherwise be spontaneously delivered.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas distribution valve unit comprising a valve body (1) comprising a gas outlet orifice (6) via which the gas can leave the valve body (1), a first internal gas passage (3) fluidically connecting a gas inlet orifice (2) to the gas outlet orifice (13), a gas passage control system arranged on the first internal gas passage (3), and a control element (5) that a user can operate and that collaborates with the gas passage control system to control the passage of gas in the first internal gas passage (3), and a device (7) that indicates pressure or the gas autonomy. According to the invention, the valve body (1) comprises a second internal gas passage (11) fluidically connected to the first internal gas passage (3), and the pressure or autonomy indicating device (7) is fixed at the upper end (1a) of the valve unit, and comprises a pressure tapping (8) in fluidic communication with the second internal gas passage (11) so as to measure the pressure of the gas inside said second internal gas passage (11). Abstract: A gas pressure regulator for use with gas delivery systems is provided. The gas pressure regulator includes, in one form, a body defining a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, and a central portion having a longitudinal axis extending therethrough. An inlet is disposed proximate the distal end portion of the body, the inlet defining an inlet axis extending therethrough, and the inlet axis being offset from the longitudinal axis. A cavity is disposed within the central portion of the body, and defines an upper portion and a lower portion, the cavity centrally aligned with the longitudinal axis. The gas pressure regulator further includes a channel extending between the inlet and the cavity, and a guide disposed within the lower portion of the cavity in abutment with a bottom surface of the cavity substantially perpendicular to the lateral axis.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for compressing gases and supplying fuel to a gaseous fuel consuming device, such as a gaseous fueled vehicle or the like. One embodiment includes a gas compressor for compressing the gaseous fuel to an array of tanks having predetermined initial set points which are increasing for tanks in the array. One embodiment provides a selecting valve having first and second families of ports wherein the valve can be operated to select a plurality of ports from the first family to be fluidly connected with a plurality of ports with the second family, and such fluid connections can be changed by operation of the valve.

Abstract: A pressurized gas storage system is disclosed for maintaining a minimum pressure of a primary fluid (5). The system includes a pressurized gas tank (2) inside which is mounted a flexible bladder (4) which contains the primary fluid. The space between the gas tank and the bladder is considered a compression chamber (9) which contains a secondary fluid (7) that exerts pressure on the bladder to maintain a minimum pressure upon the primary fluid. The secondary fluid is supplied to and exits tank pressure chamber through a port (6). The flexible bladder is couple to inlet outlet port (8) extending to a pickup tube (10). The system also includes a pump (18), fluid reservoir (14), pressure relief valve (24) and controller (26) which functions to maintain the pressure of the secondary fluid. In a second embodiment, pressure is maintained through a second fluid absorbing and releasing material.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for elastic suspension of an assembly of reservoirs (50, 60) on the underbody of a motor vehicle. The reservoirs (50, 60) are mounted substantially in parallel and have a substantially cylindrical general shape terminated by two shaped end pieces (50A, 50B; 60A, 60B). Said novel suspension device comprises two flanges (10, 11), which fit closely to the shaped end pieces (50A, 50B; 60A, 60B) of the reservoirs (50, 60) and are linked together by tie rods (30) gripping said reservoirs (50, 60), and a plurality of arms (40A, 40B, 40C, 40D) which link the flanges (10, 11) to a plurality of elastic connection points of the suspension device on the vehicle body.
