Abstract:
Methods of forming garments having one or more stretchable conductive ink patterns. Described herein are method of making garments (including compression garments) having one or more highly stretchable conductive ink pattern formed of a composite of an insulative adhesive, a conductive ink, and an intermediate gradient zone between the adhesive and conductive ink. The conductive ink typically includes between about 40-60% conductive particles, between about 30-50% binder; between about 3-7% solvent; and between about 3-7% thickener. The stretchable conductive ink patterns may be stretched more than twice their length without breaking or rupturing.
Abstract:
A frame has an interior side and an exterior side. The frame is configured to extend around the back of a user's head. A first membrane is coupled to at least a portion of the interior side of the frame. In one embodiment, a second membrane is coupled to the first membrane. The first membrane and the second membrane define a receptacle and an opening that communicates with the receptacle. In one embodiment, a speaker is disposed in the receptacle. A first electrical wire has a first end electrically coupled to the speaker and a second end including a connector. The connector can be disposed proximate to the opening of the receptacle. The connector is configured to be electrically coupled to a second electrical wire.
Abstract:
A headphone assembly is provided that includes two earpieces coupled by a flexible connecting wire. Each earpiece includes a single large button disposed on a distal side of the earpiece, thereby enabling a wearer to operate the system, even without direct access thereto.
Abstract:
A wireless audio control apparatus comprises a U-shaped outer shell having an outer surface, an inner surface and a plurality of side surfaces. A spring clip is attached to the inner surface of the outer shell. A speaker, a microphone and at least one control interface are located on the outer surface of the outer shell. A jack sealed behind a jack cover is located on at least one of the plurality of side surfaces of the outer shell. A wireless transceiver, an amplifier and a rechargeable battery are located inside the outer shell. The wireless audio control apparatus is configured to control the audio output from a wirelessly attached personal audio device while being removably affixed to a generally planar object worn by a user.
Abstract:
A footwear device for enhancing an entertainment experience in accordance with an embodiment of the present application includes a first actuator mounted in the footwear device and operable to impart a vibration to the footwear device based on an indication of reproduced sound included in the entertainment experience. A vibration signal is provided to drive the vibration of the footwear device and may be based on reproduced audible information and/or enhanced information optimized to maximize vibration. The present application also relates to an entertainment system for use with the vibrating footwear device.
Abstract:
A hearing protection system with talk-through having a pair of rigid earcups enclosing a microphone, amplifier and speaker. A concha simulator, having a volume simulating that of the concha of a human ear, is acoustically coupled to the microphone, and also to the outside through an opening in the earcup. By coupling the microphone to the concha simulator, instead of directly to the outside, the acoustic response of the talk-through more accurately represents the hearing of a user.
Abstract:
A device for mounting a communication headset to a helmet includes a mounting panel having a seat in a front surface thereof that includes a set of electrical contacts and a guide, a printed circuit board 110 in electrical connection with the electrical contacts, and an elongated tongue affixed to the mounting panel. The tongue is configured for insertion between an inner shell and an outer shell of a protective helmet. Also, a wireless communication device can have such a tongue affixed to it. The tongue can be forked or otherwise arranged to have plural broad surfaces extending to a free end.
Abstract:
A waterproof speaker and audio system that can be worn in one or more holding pockets in a wetsuit, neoprene collar, or other garment, the waterproof speaker and audio system having one or more components. A first component may have one or more of the following: a transmitter unit, speaker, amplifier, digital audio file storage space (for example, MP3 or Windows Media Audio file), rechargeable battery, one or more buttons, one or more input and output ports such as a universal serial bus (USB) port for charging the battery and file transfer, one or more LED lights to indicate battery charge, a screen to provide audio file information including track number, and an FM and AM radio, and a second component designed to work in connection with the first component which may have one or more of the following: an amplifier, rechargeable battery, speaker, receiver, and one or more control buttons.
Abstract:
The invention provided a visor including a headband including an adjustable strap; a bill attached to the headband and including an flexible fabric sound speaker integrally formed within the bill; an amplifier including a signal input, the amplifier removeably attached to the headband and coupled to the speaker; and a power supply removeably attached to the headband and coupled to the amplifier. Numerous additional features are disclosed.
Abstract:
Audio systems are disclosed and include audio docking stations, adapters for connecting to audio docking stations, electronic devices equipped with audio components, and non-electronic articles enabled for use with audio components. An audio docking station may include one or more earphones and an audio input. The earphones and/or audio input may be wireless or include retractable wires. An adapter may act as a sound pouch to connect to the audio docking station. The adapter may be located in clothing, furniture, electronic devices, protective covers or cases, or in other locations. An electronic device may also act as a docking station and include earphones and/or an audio input. Cavities may be pre-formed in the housing of the electronic device for storage of earphones and/or an audio input.
