Abstract: A system and method for aiding in the proper placement of ECG electrodes and other resuscitation parameters. The system includes motion sensors disposed on the ECG electrodes, and a defibrillator control system operable to interpret motion signals from the motions sensors to determine that an electrode is in motion, and thus being handled by rescuer setting up the system for use, and, based on this determination, prompt the rescuer to place the electrode in its intended location on the body of the patient. The control system may also be operable to determine relative motion and/orientation of the motion sensors and control resuscitation based on the relative motion and/orientation of the motion sensors.

Abstract: A patient brace system and method of using the same are disclosed for treatment of lower extremity injuries. Described brace systems include a crutch, at least one crutch sensor, a patient brace, at least one controller, and a rehabilitation application. The crutch sensor(s) measure one or more crutch parameters. The controller(s) are operable to receive and process a signal(s) indicative of the crutch parameter(s) and produces patient gait data that, in turn, is communicated to a data hub. In some embodiments, the patient brace may also include at least one brace sensor configured to similarly communicate with the data hub. The rehabilitation application is communication with the data hub and determines a response output based on the information fed to the data hub, the application then communicating the response output to at least one of a caregiver, a user of the patient brace, and/or to the patient brace.

Abstract: A method for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes supplying an inflation gas at an operative pressure to an inflation actuated soft gripper device to change form from an undeployed state to a deployed grip state that accommodates and grips a human torso. The inflation actuated soft gripper device includes a first inflatable gripper arm having a first distal end and a second inflatable gripper arm having a second distal end. The first distal end and the second distal end approach one another from the undeployed state to the deployed grip state. The first and second distal ends are spaced apart from one another further in the undeployed state than in the deployed grip state. An actuator power and a CPR control signal are delivered to a CPR pressure application device to cyclically extend and retract a pressure applicator along an axis in alignment with a sternum of the human torso.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a device for circumduction of a limb having a base, a vertical support operably coupled to and extending away from the base, a rotary member operably connected to the vertical support, a limb support member operably connected to the rotary member, and a motor drivingly engaged with the rotary member. The vertical support may be a rigid plate member, bracket, or frame. The bracket and/or frame may include at least one vertical member and at least one horizontal member. The rotary member is operably connected to the vertical support such that rotary member is free to rotate. Limb support member receives and supports the limb to be treated and is operably coupled to rotary member at a radial distance from a center of rotation thereby resulting in a circular motion of a limb when the motor is operated.

Abstract: Devices, mediums, systems and methods for promoting female sexual arousal are provided and described. In one embodiment, the device includes a pump for evacuating a suction chamber when attaching the suction chamber to the female's tissue and a controller configured to self-regulate to turn on and off the pump to maintain a certain level of pressure. The controller is additionally or alternatively configured to activate the pump and to activate a feedback indicator distinct from the pump upon the sensor detecting a pressure value above ambient pressure whereby the feedback indicator advises the female as to the status of evacuation. The device can further additionally or alternatively include at least one sensor for measuring the temperature of the at least one stimulator in the vicinity of the stimulation and a controller electrically coupled to the at least one stimulator and the at least one sensor for controlling the at least one stimulator during a maximum power session.
