    Abstract: Valve actuators and methods of reducing current consumption of a valve actuator are disclosed. An example valve actuator includes a motor configured to move the actuator to an activated position. A return means biases the actuator to a default deactivated position. A controller, in communication with the motor, is configured to receive instructions regarding the actuation state of the actuator and to operate the motor according to those instructions.
