An accessory device that can be removably attached to the button of a hat. The device includes a base with an opening that extends at least partially through the base. The device can be attached to the hat by pushing the button of the hat into the opening of the device. Friction between the inner surface of the opening and the button securely holds the device to the hat.
Abstract:
A light controller capable of varying the brightness of a light emitting diode in a linear manner. The light controller may control a number of lights in a predetermined pattern or in a pattern designed by the user. A remote control may be used to control and interact with the light controller. The light controller may have inputs for audio signals, tachometer signals, or other external signals. The light controller may be coupled to other light controllers to enable the control of additional lights in a synchronized manner. The light controller may be particularly well suited to controlling light emitting diodes and controlling lights in a vehicle accent lighting application, although many other uses may be apparent.

Smokable rods of cigarettes are manufactured using wrapping materials that incorporate at least one fibrous material (e.g., flax fibers, hardwood pulp fibers and/or softwood pulp fibers) at least one filler material (e.g., calcium carbonate in particulate form). The wrapping materials possess multi-layer coatings. The wrapping materials possess coatings in the form of series of spaced apart bands, each band possessing a series of layers. At least one of the coating layers can have a filler material dispersed or suspended within a film-forming material of that layer.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for removing residual magnetization in a data transducer, such as a recording head used to write data to a recording medium in a data storage device. A residual magnetization sense circuit senses a residual magnetization of a pole of the data transducer as a result of the application of a data transmission current to the transducer. A demagnetization current generator removes the residual magnetization by supplying the transducer with a demagnetizing current that decreases to a final magnitude in accordance with a selected profile. The demagnetization current preferably comprises a bi-directional, time varying current of selected frequency to the transducer that tapers linearly, exponentially or in a step-wise fashion to the final magnitude. The demagnetization profile is preferably continuously adapted during operation. Preferably, the sense circuit and demagnetization current generator are incorporated into a preamplifier/driver circuit which performs the demagnetization operation in a self-contained fashion.

A twist-tie cluster is described that includes a plurality of twist ties, each having a wire retained within a strip of material, wherein a cut is made in each of said wires between said first end and said second end, and where an uncut portion of the material connects the twist ties. A connecting means connects first segments of the twist ties together. A twist-tie dispenser is also described including a back wall and a cam member rotatable between a first position and a second position, where the second position traps the twist ties between the back wall and the cam member. A method of dispensing twist-ties is described including trapping a group of twist-ties between a cam member and a back wall.
Abstract:
A cluster of twist-ties is formed by arranging twist-ties generally parallel to one another and interconnecting the twist-ties at a common end. The twist-ties are severed proximate the common end so that a person can pull on an opposite, free end of any twist-tie to remove it from the cluster.

This invention relates to a make-before-break switch of the type for electrical connector, where the connector is intended to be mated with a complementary coaxial cable connector. The switching connector comprises a pair of spaced-apart, cantilevered switch contacts mounted within a dielectric housing, where such mating is between the pair of switch contacts. A unique feature hereof is that the shank portion of one of the switch contacts has a contact arm extending toward and in contact with the shank portion of the other switch contact in an unmated condition, and that the respective mating ends of the switch contacts are axially offset from one another. By this arrangement, upon mating by the complementary connector, contact is made sequentially with the mating ends and the contact arm is caused to wipe along the shank portion of the first switch contact to counter the effects of contaminants and oxides which may be present at the contact point.

A tool set for installing and removing individual connector pins mounted in an electrical circuit board and the like and within a connector housing wherein the pin to be removed or installed is part of a row of pin pairs enclosed within a housing. A pin is installed and/or removed with the present tools without housing removal or disturbing of other pins within the housing, regardless of the type of pin damage encountered. There is also a tool for inserting tie pins in a circuit board in aligned relationship.

A printed circuit board connector is comprised of an elongated rectangular housing having a passageway in a longitudinal edge thereof for insertion of the board. A thin plate lever lying along the outer surface of each side wall of the housing and rockably mounted thereon, is provided at its free end with openings to capture the free ends of resilient contact members supported within the housing for retracting them against their bias from the path of a circuit board inserted in the passageway. A thin slidable cam plate between each of the side walls and plate levers cooperates with projections on the walls for causing them to move outward for pulling the contacts away from the passageway. A feature of the invention is that the housing and plate levers are all injection molded in one piece, and the levers are broken off the housing and rockably mounted thereon. The cooperating parts on the levers and side walls by which they can be assembled for relative rocking movement of the levers are integrally formed thereon in the molding process.
