Abstract:
A method and systems for pursuing a potential value-added tax (VAT) reclaim through a mobile device. The method comprises receiving at least one image of a VAT receipt from the mobile device; identifying a geographic location of the mobile device; determining whether the mobile device is or was in a foreign country at the time the image was produced; analyzing, by an optical character recognition processor, the at least one image of the VAT receipt; determining whether the VAT receipt is eligible for a VAT refund based on at least one VAT reclaim rule, wherein the at least one VAT reclaim rule determines eligibility based on at least a country of residence of a user of the mobile device, the geographic location of the mobile device, and the analysis of the at least one image; and upon determining that the VAT receipt is eligible for the VAT refund, generating a reclaim request.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electric energy storage system, comprising an inverter (6), several associations (21, 22), of an electric energy storage unit (1, 2) in series with a bidirectional chopper (3, 4), connected in parallel to a same input of the inverter (6), on the side of their chopper (3, 4), characterized in that at least one bidirectional chopper (3, 4), associated with an electric energy storage unit (1, 2) that can be charged and discharged asymmetrically, is sized asymmetrically for the charge and discharge of said associated storage unit (1, 2).
Abstract:
A method for processing solid, organic wastes obtained in the production of vegetable oil, for example the production of palm oil, chiefly consisting of pressing residues of the oil plants and/or oil seeds and oil-containing waste water by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC), wherein the oil present in the waste water in emulsified form is sorbed by the solids rich in carbon, which are obtained from the solid wastes.
Abstract:
A process for continuous production of biodiesel from vegetable oils or animal fats by transesterification with methanol or ethanol to give crude fatty acid alkyl esters, subsequent washing with water in a wash column to remove water-soluble impurities, subsequent drying by vaporization of the water content and subsequent removal of steryl glycosides by adsorption onto calcium bentonite, wherein the adsorption column(s) used is/are regenerated in a first step, for desorption of the steryl glycosides, by rinsing with a mixture consisting of fatty acid alkyl esters and methanol or ethanol, and in a subsequent second step, for removal of methanol residues, by rinsing with fatty acid alkyl esters or with gaseous nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for searching data and grouping search results into clusters that are ordered according to search relevance. Each cluster comprises one or more data type, such as images, web pages, local information, news, advertisements, and the like. In one embodiment, a search term is evaluated for related concepts indicating categories of data sources to search. Data sources may also be identified by context information such as a location of a client device, a currently running application, and the like. Search results in each cluster are ordered by relevance and each cluster is given a score based on an aggregate of the relevance within the cluster. Each cluster score may be modified based on one or more corresponding concepts and/or context information. The clusters are ordered based on the modified scores. Content, including advertisements, may also be added to the ordered list to appear as another cluster.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described by which one or more input words may be predicted based on partial input from a user using a predictive model that employs contextual metadata which characterizes the user in a multi-dimensional space in which the dimensions are defined by one or more of a spatial aspect, a temporal aspect, a social aspect, or a topical aspect.
Abstract:
A software control mechanism is disclosed for use with a plurality of media applications. The software control mechanism comprises a media control panel structured for use with a plurality of media applications. The media control panel is independent of each media application. Each media application is displayed within a computer screen. The software control mechanism is structured to control a function of a presently interfaced media application on the display screen. Further, as the presently interfaced media application changes on the display screen, the media control panel for that media application is displayed along a same boundary of the computer screen.
Abstract:
A system and method are directed towards refining mobile device search results using location modifiers. Information about a mobile device user may be collected, including a current location, a default location, information from address books, or other social networking information. The user may input a search query that is parsed into a primary search term and possibly a location modifier. The location modifier may modify the search for the primary search term by refining a physical location over which the search is performed. Location modifiers may include user-specific location modifiers that may employ social networking information to refine the search query, or a location sub-string modifier that refines the search query by employing a hierarchy of location data and/or social networking information. In one embodiment, where no location modifier is included within the search query, a current, or default, location of the mobile device may be employed.
