    Abstract: An electrode catalyst layer includes a catalyst material, a conductive carrier that supports the catalyst material, a polymer electrolyte containing a sulfonate group, and a fibrous material. The electrode catalyst layer includes a first surface configured to be in contact with the polymer electrolyte membrane, and a second surface facing away from the first surface. A first value is obtained by dividing a peak intensity of SO3 (m/z80) by a peak intensity of carbon (m/z12), and also dividing by a total thickness of the electrode catalyst layer, when the electrode catalyst layer is analyzed using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) at each of a plurality of positions in a thickness direction of the electrode catalyst layer from the first surface to the second surface. A rate of change of the first value with respect to a thickness of the electrode catalyst layer is −0.0020 or less.

    Abstract: A photomask including a photomask body having a surface on which a mask pattern is formed and to be scanned and subjected to pattern transfer to a resist through a lens assembly including a connecting portion and a non-connecting portion. The mask pattern has a first region subjected to the pattern transfer at the connecting portion of the lens assembly and a second region subjected to the pattern transfer at the non-connecting portion. The mask pattern has, in at least one of the first and second regions, a corrected line width which is adjusted by calculation such that the resist is to have a target line width as designed. The corrected line width has a stepwise change in at least one of a scanning direction and a direction orthogonal to the scanning direction. The stepwise change is made by including a correction component based on a random number.

    Abstract: An individual certificate medium includes an optical security patch in which a relief layer and a metal layer include a first area and a second area. The first area includes an altered region and a portion of the relief layer overlapping with the altered region as viewed in the thickness direction of a recording layer. The second area includes a non-altered region and another portion of the relief layer overlapping with the non-altered region as viewed in the thickness direction. As viewed in the thickness direction, the first area transmits light incident thereon, while the second area absorbs light incident thereon to hide a recording region. In a direction intersecting the thickness direction, the first and second areas cause light incident on the optical security patch to emerge as diffracted light.
