Abstract: A medical device may include an insertion device having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therethrough. A snare device may be configured to transition between a retracted state within the lumen of the insertion device, and an extended state extending distally of the insertion device. The snare device may comprise a wire. A member may be disposed within the lumen of the insertion device. The member may be configured to maintain legs of the snare device in an open snare loop configuration in the extended state. In the open snare loop configuration, the wire may include an arcuate loop.

Abstract: Medical devices and methods for using medical devices are disclosed. A rotational atherectomy device may include an elongate shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a lumen extending therein. The medical device may also include a cutting member positioned adjacent the distal end region of the elongate shaft. The cutting member may be radially expandable. The medical device may also include a sizing member positioned adjacent the cutting member. The sizing member may be radially expandable, and the radial expansion of the cutting member may be limited by radial expansion of the sizing member.

Abstract: A medical/surgical device for performing tissue resection can include an endoscope with proximal and distal ends, defining working channels, and a snare assembly located in one of the working channels. The working channel may include a bend near the distal end and towards the outward radial wall of the endoscope. The snare assembly may include a snare loop and an actuation element imparted with the pre-formed angular bends and an actuation control handle. The bends of the actuation element and the working channel may be the same. The rotational manipulation of the actuation element may synchronize the pre-formed bend of the actuation element with the bend of the working channel to concentrically (or otherwise) align the deployed snare loop with the endoscope or endoscope attachments.

Abstract: A device for passing a needle and suture longitudinally through a target tissue includes a proximal jaw including a proximal recess and a proximal retention mechanism for releasably engaging a first end of a needle received within the proximal recess and a distal jaw movably coupled to the proximal jaw such that the proximal and distal jaws are longitudinally movable relative to one another. The proximal and distal jaws are movable between a first state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration, and a second state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration.

Abstract: A device for treating a tissue opening includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lumen extending therethrough; a pair of arms movably housed within the lumen of the capsule such that the pair of arms are movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, the pair of arms being biased toward the open configuration such that when the pair of arms are moved distally with respect to the capsule, distal ends of the pair of arms are separated from one another to receive target tissue therebetween; a needle releasably connected to a first one of the pair of arms, the needle extending laterally inward toward a second one of the pair of arms and including a connecting structure extending along a portion thereof, the second one of the pair of arms including an opening located so that, when the pair of arms are moved to the closed configuration, the connecting structure of the needle engages the opening; and a suture extending from a portion of the needle proximally through the capsule.

Abstract: A medical device and a method for manipulating a tissue. The medical device includes two or more bars, a snare loop and a constricting element. Each bar includes a proximal end, and one or more distal ends, such that the bars are in close proximity at the proximal end. The snare loop maybe coupled to the distal ends of the bars. The constricting element maybe movably coupled to the bars, such that the constricting element expands the snare loop when positioned at the proximal end of the plurality of bars while the constricting element collapses the snare loop when positioned at the distal end of the plurality of bars, thus, keeping the distal end of the snare loop stationary with respect to the tissue.

Abstract: According to aspects of the present disclosure, a retrieval device may include a sheath, a first drive member in the sheath, and a second drive member in the sheath. The second drive member may be movable relative to the first drive member. An end effector may be retractable into and extendable out of the sheath. The end effector may include a first proximal end portion coupled to the first drive member, a second proximal end portion coupled to the second drive member, and a plurality of legs extending distally from the first and second proximal end portions to a distal tip of the end effector. All of the legs that extend to the distal tip may be fixed together at the distal tip.
