    Abstract: A method of efficient signalizing of picture size and partitioning information in a video bitstream, is performed by at least one processor and includes obtaining, from a sequence parameter set (SPS) to which a coded picture refers, a flag indicating whether the picture size and partitioning information of the coded picture is included in the SPS, and determining whether the obtained flag indicates that the picture size and partitioning information is included in the SPS. The method further includes based on the flag being determined to indicate that the picture size and partitioning information is included in the SPS, obtaining, from the SPS, the picture size and partitioning information, and based on the flag being determined to indicate that the picture size and partitioning information is not included in the SPS, obtaining, from a video parameter set (VPS), the picture size and partitioning information that is included in the VPS.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry that determines previous probability information associated with each entropy coded region of multiple regions in a previous picture. The processing circuitry selects, based on (i) a location or a quantization parameter of an independently decodable coding segment in a current picture or (ii) syntax information of the independently decodable coding segment, a region among the multiple regions. Initial probability information for one or more current syntax elements of a block in the independently decodable coding segment is determined based on the previous probability information associated with the selected region. The one or more current syntax elements are first to be entropy decoded in the independently decodable coding segment. The processing circuitry entropy decodes coded bits associated with the one or more current syntax elements into a bin string based on the initial probability information.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for mesh coding (encoding and/or decoding). In some examples, an apparatus for coding mesh includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes, three dimensional (3D) coordinates of vertices in a first 3D mesh frame and connectivity information of the vertices from a bitstream that carries the first 3D mesh frame. The first 3D mesh frame represents a surface of an object with polygons. The processing circuitry deduces texture coordinates associated with the vertices, and decodes a texture map for the first 3D mesh frame from the bitstream. The texture map includes first one or more 2D charts with 2D vertices having the texture coordinates. The processing circuitry reconstructs the first 3D mesh frame based on the 3D coordinates of the vertices, the connectivity information of the vertices, the texture map and the texture coordinates.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates encoding and decoding of motion vector difference for inter-predicting a video block. The method includes receiving a coded video bitstream; extracting, from the coded video bitstream, a flag indicating whether an inter-predication mode is a JOINT_NEWMV mode for a current block in a current frame, wherein the JOINT_NEWMV mode indicates that a first delta motion vector (MV) for a first reference frame from a reference list 0 and a second delta MV for a second reference frame from a reference list 1 are jointly signaled; in response to the flag indicating that the inter-predication mode is the JOINT_NEWMV mode: extracting a joint delta motion vector (MV) for the current block, and deriving the first delta MV and the second delta MV based on the joint delta MV; and decoding the current block based on the first delta MV and the second delta MV.
