Abstract:
A positive locking fitting assembly is provided for interconnecting two adjacent structures, such as two modular components of an aircraft. The fitting assembly includes a pair of couplers which attach to the respective modular components, and a transfer tube which interconnects the couplers. Each coupler has a positive locking feature which prevents inadvertent uncoupling during operation. A plurality of redundant seals are incorporated throughout the construction of the fitting assembly which ensures a leak proof relationship not only between the joined pair of modular components, but also through the structure of the elements of the fitting assembly-itself.
Abstract:
A coupling arrangement connects two elements with each other. The coupling arrangement includes a plug element and a bushing element which are configured in such a manner that they can be plugged together and locked in position by means of an expandable retaining ring. An axially movable release arrangement cooperates with the retaining ring in order to release the locking mechanism. The coupling arrangement is characterized in that the release arrangement (41) comprises a release sleeve (43), which can be closed with a cover (51) on its side facing away from the bushing element (5), and that a blocking device (55) is used to prevent an inadvertent release of the coupling.
Abstract:
A hose-connector assembly including an inner resin tube, an outer rubber protector tube which covers an outer circumferential surface of the inner resin tube over an entire length of the inner resin tube, and a tubular connector which includes an end portion press-fitted in each of at least one of opposite end portions of the inner resin tube. The assembly is produced by forming by extrusion an inner resin tube layer, forming by extrusion an outer rubber protector tube layer having substantially the same length as the inner resin tube layer, so as to cover the outer surface of the inner resin tube layer over the entire length of the inner resin tube layer, to obtain a laminar tubular blank consisting of the inner resin tube layer and the outer rubber protector tube layer, cutting the laminar tubular blank into pieces each of which provides a hose consisting of the inner resin tube and the outer rubber protector tube, and press-fitting the end portion of the tubular connector in each of at least one of the opposite end portions of the inner resin tube.
Abstract:
A quick disconnect and release hose couplings is disclosed where the socket will disconnect and release from a plug if the hose connected to the hose coupling is pulled with sufficient force. A quick disconnect female socket used in the hose coupling includes a body portion and a movable sleeve. The hose coupling includes an end conduit that is adapted for coupling to a hose. The end conduit is connected to an intermediate conduit, and the intermediate conduit is connected to the body portion of the socket. The hose is in fluid communication with the socket through the end conduit and intermediate conduit. The intermediate conduit also permits the end conduit to move relative to the body portion. A mechanical coupling is attached to the end conduit and to the sleeve of the socket such that when the end conduit moves relative to the body portion the mechanical coupling moves the sleeve relative to the body portion. Accordingly, pulling on the end conduit or the hose attached to the end conduit will retract the sleeve so as to disconnect and release the hose coupling from the plug.
Abstract:
A locking mechanism for male and female coupling members for use in undersea production and drilling applications is disclosed. At least one pin extends radially from the female member. The pin enters an L-shaped slot in a guide sleeve extending longitudinally from the male member. A lock bar moveable between a locked and unlocked position holds the pin in the L-shaped slot.
Abstract:
A special safety device prevents two fluid lines from being connected if the fluid in the first line can not be safely received by the second line. The danger of connecting the two lines may be, for example, because the fluid carried by the first line presents a safety hazard if received by the second line, or because the fluid in the first line is at too high a pressure or temperature to be safely received by the second line. The safety device includes first and second cams which are connected to the two lines. The first cam has cam keys in a first pattern which is indicative of characteristics of the fluid transmitted by the first fluid line, while the second cam has cam keys in a second, complimentary pattern which is indicative of characteristics of the fluid which may be safely received by the second fluid line. The first and second cams are positioned with respect to the male and female couplings of the fluid lines such that the male and female couplings can not even be partially engaged unless the first and second patterns match one another in a complimentary manner sufficiently to allow the first and second cams to pass one another.

a) a pipe joint which includes at least two pipe ends (1, 2) which are fixed together by means of a mechanical joint (3) and in which the pipe ends (1, 2) and also the mechanical joint are closed with a deformable hollow body (4), or b) a pipe (1) with a pipe opening (14), for example a leak, through which a medium which is disposed within the pipe can escape, wherein the pipe (1) is enclosed by a deformable hollow body where the pipe opening (14) is and wherein the pipe (1) is covered by the hollow body (4) in a predetermined portion on both sides of the opening (14), or c) a pipe having a pipe opening on which a sprinkler of a sprinkler installation is mounted, wherein the pipe (1) and also the sprinkler outlet is enclosed by a deformable hollow body (4) where the sprinkler is fixed to the pipe so that the hollow body (4) surrounds both the pipe end (1) and also the sprinkler outlet and a part of the sprinkler, or d) a pipe of a pipe system, wherein the pipe (1) is formed from two pipe portions which are connected together in positively locking relationship, for example by a welding process, a soldering process, a gluing process or the like, and wherein in the region of the positively locking connection the pipe is enclosed or covered by a deformable hollow body, or e) a pipe of a pipe system, wherein the pipe is enclosed by a deformable hollow body and where the hollow body (4) encloses the pipe (1) the pipe is carried by a suspension (13) which preferably has a material different from the material of the pipe.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pipe fitting apparatus providing easy locking with an appropriate torque, and more specifically, relates to a pipe fitting apparatus providing easy locking with an appropriate torque for which the possibility of breakage and leakage has been eliminated by being easily configured in a manner that the locking of the pipe fitting apparatus used to connect pipes is performed with an appropriate torque. The pipe fitting apparatus has a fitting body, a force control ferrule, and a fixing nut. The fitting body has a first connecting portion with an inner threaded surface, a second connecting portion having an outer threaded portion, and a ferrule seating portion where the force control ferrule is provided. The fixing nut has an inner threaded portion for engaging with the second connecting portion of the fitting body and an inclined pressure surface for abutting against the force control ferrule.

A coupler for lined pipe joints in a lined pipe system. The coupler for a lined pipe system, having lined pipe section ends with an inner diameter. A substantially cylindrical hollow body includes an outer surface, an inner surface, two opposing open ends, and a longitudinal center between the two opposing open ends. A ridge extends radially outwardly from the outer surface at the longitudinal center. A hollow radial barb, with a point having a maximum diameter and a hollow section, is symmetrically disposed on the outer surface between each opposing open end and the ridge wherein the radial barbs extend outwardly from the outer surface and away from the ridge.
Abstract:
Fluid connectors assemblies that provide neutral fluid displacement without overlapping connectors are disclosed. A fluid connector assembly may include a housing and a pair of connectors (e.g., luers) coupled with the housing. A compressible member (e.g., bellow) is located within the housing. The first connector and the second connector each include a post with an opening. The compressible member can seal off the opening of the first connector from fluid entry. However, when the post of the second connector is inserted into the housing, the post of the second connector displaces the compressible member, causing the compressible member to uncover the opening, and further causes the compressible member to open in another location and receive fluid. Further, the compressible member seals each of the first connector and the second connector and forms a fluid path through the posts and the compressible member, with the seals regulating fluid flow.
