Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first common electrode and a second common electrode arranged in a first direction, a first switch unit selectively supplying a first drive signal or a second drive signal different from the first drive signal to the first common electrode, and a second switch unit selectively supplying the first drive signal or the second drive signal to the second common electrode, wherein the second common electrode and the first switch unit are arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction, the first switch unit comprises a first switch circuit and a second switch circuit arranged in the second direction.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device having an outer shape of a display region formed other than a rectangle. A driver for supplying a video signal is disposed outside the display region. A selector with selector TFT is disposed between the display region and the driver. A video signal line is disposed between the driver and the selector, and a drain line is disposed between the selector and the display region. A scanning circuit for supplying a scanning signal to the scanning line is disposed outside the display region. The selector is disposed between the scanning line and the display region, and covered with ITO as the common electrode. The common bus wiring is disposed outside the selector.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a display panel having a display surface that includes a first region and a second region. The display panel outputs a first light in the first region and a second light in the second region. The first light has a first normal brightness in a first orthogonal direction and a first oblique brightness in a first inclined direction. The second light has a second normal brightness in a second orthogonal direction and a second oblique brightness in a second inclined direction. The included angles between the orthogonal directions and the corresponding inclined directions are acute angles. A ratio of a difference between the first normal brightness and the second normal brightness to the first normal brightness is less than a ratio of a difference between the first oblique brightness and the second oblique brightness to the first oblique brightness is defined as a second ratio.

Abstract: A display device with a variant-shape display region other than the rectangular display region is configured to form a scanning line drive circuit, along the variant-shape display region. The scanning line drive circuit includes bus wiring group with clock wiring for supplying clocks with three or more phases and the power supply wring for supplying power, and the unit circuits for configuring the shift register including five or more transistors. The bus wiring and the unit circuits are formed on the different regions so as not to cross with one another.

Abstract: A variable light beam is provided from a light source. The light source can be an LED light source or other source. The light source includes basic collimation optics, such as reflector or Fresnel lens, an electrically controllable LC device, such as a polydisperse LC film, in front of the incident spot light beam. Preferably the polydisperse LC film includes transparent flat uniform electrode layers. The LC device can be autonomous of the light source. The proposed solution provides a dynamically controllable, preferably polarizer-free and pixel-free, beam shape light source module including a controllable light beam control module and a light source module providing the initial light beam in a scanner light source, a camera flash, an architectural, automobile or industrial lighting device.
