Abstract:
Provided is a terminal for controlling an external device, not equipped with its own memory or controller, connected to the terminal. The portable terminal, when being connected to at least one external device, changes its setting with an extracted setting data matching the connected external device. Accordingly, the connected external device in a connection state to the portable terminal performs corresponding operations under control of the portable terminal.
Abstract:
Convertible wireless remote controls for controlling a variety of media devices are described. The convertible wireless remote controls function in a non-PC mode and a PC mode. The convertible wireless remote controls transition between modes offering control of a variety of devices in the different modes and are shaped with usability and power consumption in mind.
Abstract:
An air conditioning system includes air conditioners having a room temperature sensor to detect temperature of rooms, a mobile terminal carried by a user, and information mediation devices configured to cause exchange of information between the air conditioners and the mobile terminal using a public circuit. An air-conditioning management program installed in the mobile terminal is capable of causing an image that includes information related to a registered plurality of the air conditioners to be displayed on a display screen of the mobile terminal. When the rooms have been determined to be in a predetermined high-temperature state based on detection results of the room temperature sensor of the registered air conditioners, the information mediation devices provide a push-notification about the high-temperature information to the mobile terminal.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling a device. The method includes obtaining model identification information of a device to be controlled. The model identification information is used for identifying a manufacturer and a device type of the device to be controlled. The method also includes obtaining a control interface for controlling a device of the device type manufactured by the manufacturer based on the model identification information. The method further includes controlling the device to be controlled via the control interface.
Abstract:
A portable input device is described. The portable input device can wirelessly send control signals to an external circuit. The control signals can derive from touch or gestures applied to a touch sensitive surface. The control signals can also include a mouse click equivalent control signal generated by mechanical manipulation of the portable input device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method enabling commissioning of a system comprising a plurality of controllable devices capable of transmitting their identification signals. The method includes receiving identification signals from the devices, displaying a map of a structure and icons corresponding to the devices from which the identification signals have been received, detecting a first user input indicating a selection by a user of a first icon from the displayed icons, the first icon corresponding to a first device, and, in response to the first user input, providing a command to the first device to issue a cue identifying the first device to the user. The method further includes, subsequent to the first device issuing the cue, detecting a second user input indicating a selection by the user of a location on the map for the first icon, and displaying the first icon on the map at the selected location.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a method for changing a graphical user interface is provided. The method may include identifying one or more devices. The method may include determining product information associated with the one or more devices, whereby the product information includes at least one of a type, a model number, and a brand. The method may include determining one or more applications associated with the one or more devices based on the product information, whereby the one or more applications allow for operation of the one or more devices. The method may include retrieving the one or more applications. The method may include determining that the computer is oriented toward a first device of the one or more devices. The method may include displaying a first graphical user interface corresponding to a first application of the one or more applications that allows for operation of the first device.
Abstract:
An integrated system of infrared remote controls includes a touch remote control and at least one infrared emitter. The touch remote control is wirelessly connected with the infrared emitter to transmit a remote signal. Each infrared emitter is mounted on a home appliance. When the infrared emitter receives the remote signal, the infrared emitter produces an infrared signal according to the remote signal and emits the infrared signal to the home appliance to control the home appliance. The infrared emitter can be adhered to or attracted on the home appliance by an adhesive layer or a magnet. Therefore, the infrared emitter can be easily mounted on the home appliance. It is very convenient for a user to set up and use the integrated system.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to the control of a lighting system illuminating a space such as a room. The controller receives signals from a mobile user terminal, including an indication of a user input entered by a user via an on-screen user interface of the mobile user terminal. The controller is also able to determine a position from which the user input was entered by the user. Further, each of a plurality of discrete control policies is associated with a respective positional demarcation within the space in question, where each control policy defines a respective type of response of the illumination to one or more on-screen elements of the lighting-control user interface. Based on this association, the controller selects one of the control policies associated with the determined position. The controller then controls the lighting system to provide the illumination in accordance with the response defined by the selected control policy.
Abstract:
A remote control apparatus receives, processes and then transmits wireless signals as control commands specific to a target appliance, device or product. The apparatus, which is a combination of a remote receiving device and a secondary relay transmitting device, communicates with the target device to control its operations. The apparatus can be used to control a plurality of target devices via their existing remote controlling scheme. The apparatus can operate in an area that does not have existing wireless infrastructure, and can be controlled by a user device.
