Abstract: Systems and methods of precoded faster than Nyquist (FTN) signalling are provided. In the transmitter, Tomlinson-Harashima Preceding (THP) is applied to produce precoded symbols. The THP is based on inter-symbol interference (ISI) due to using faster than Nyquist (FTN) signalling. An inverse modulo operation is not performed in the receiver. Instead, in the receiver, FTN processing is performed based on a matched filter output by determining log a-posteriori probability ratio LAPPR values computed for an nth bit bn of a kth received symbol and pre-computed a-priori probabilities of an extended constellation for a given pulse shape h(t) and FTN acceleration factor combination.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for multiplexing control information in a physical uplink data channel. A method of a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a configuration for a first set of values and receiving a downlink control information (DCI) format scheduling a transmission of a physical uplink shared data channel (PUSCH) over a set of resource elements (REs) and including a field providing an index. The method further includes determining a first value from the first set of values based on the index, determining a first subset of REs from the set of REs, for multiplexing first uplink control information (UCI), based on the first value, and transmitting the first UCI in the PUSCH.

Abstract: A transmitter/receiver pair may estimate a first channel interference caused during the spatial reuse phase by the transmitter/receiver pair to other transmitter/receiver pairs over a channel. A second channel interference experienced by the transmitter/receiver pair may be estimated during the spatial reuse phase by the transmitter/receiver pair from the other transmitter/receiver pairs. An interference margin may be estimated for the channel based on the first and second channel interferences. The interference margin may be announced to the other transmitter/receiver pairs in frame. The interference margin may then be complied with while communicating over the channel in order to control the interference.

Abstract: A subscriber device for use in an automated personal emergency response system implemented as a conference bridge on a remote computing network. The device, intended to be worn as a pendant, wristband or in another wearable configuration, includes a color high-resolution display for signaling a user of the subscriber device with notifications, arrows for directional guidance, and/or other status messages. The device also includes microphones and speakers for enabling a teleconference between a user of the subscriber device in need of assistance and parties joined to the teleconference via the automated personal emergency response system. The user of the subscriber device may initiate the call for assistance and teleconference via a press of a single button on the device; alternatively, accelerometers in the device may detect a fall and automatically initiate the call. The device can receive medical telemetry and provide it to conference participants and perform home automation tasks.

Abstract: A low-latency, high-bandwidth, and highly scalable method delivers data from a source device to multiple communication devices on a communication network. Under this method, the communication devices (also called player nodes) provide download and upload bandwidths for each other. In this manner, the bandwidth requirement on the data source is significantly reduced. Such a data delivery network is scalable without limits with the number of player nodes. In one embodiment, a computer network includes (a) a source server that provides a data stream for delivery in the computer network, (b) player nodes that exchange data with each other to obtain a complete copy of the data stream, the network nodes being capable of dynamically joining or exiting the computer network, and (c) a control server which maintains a topology graph representing connections between the source server and the player nodes, and the connections among the player nodes themselves. In one embodiment, the control server is associated with a network address (e.g., an IP address) known to both the source server and the player nodes. The data stream may include, for example, a real-time broadcast of a sports event.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for providing device(s) with additional processing time to process a packet received wirelessly while still meeting the legacy SIFS time constraint. The additional processing time may be achieved by adding, by a device transmitting the packet, padding and/or a packet extension to the last symbol of the packet. The additional processing time provided to the device(s) advantageously reduces the amount of extra hardware that would normally be added to meet the SIFS time constraint. The amount of padding and/or packet extension to be added to the last symbol is balanced to minimize the complexity of the device(s) against the reduction in system efficiency incurred by the device(s).
