Abstract:
Provided is an image processing system including a server and a scanning device connected with the server through a network. The scanning device includes a measurement unit that performs multiple times of measurement required to reconstruct one image on a target to obtain a plurality of pieces of measurement data, and a data transmission unit that transmits the plurality of pieces of measurement data obtained by the measurement unit to the server. The server includes a data reception unit that receives the plurality of pieces of measurement data transmitted by the data transmission unit, and a reconstructed image creation unit that creates a reconstructed image on the basis of the plurality of pieces of measurement data received by the data reception unit.
Abstract:
A medical image and data application service provider system provides a way of remotely viewing and manipulating medical images and data for diagnostic and visualization purposes by users unconstrained by geography. Medical images and data are stored on one or more servers running application service provider software along with meta-data such as access control information, origin of information and references to related data. A set of medical data consisting related information is sent as an encrypted stream to a viewing station running client software in a secure execution environment that is logically independent of the viewing station's operating system.

Abstract:
A Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) transmits medical image information from a server to a viewing workstation. The mode of transmission that the system uses depends on a performance metric of the network. If the network is fast and stable, the entire DICOM image file is transmitted. If the network is not fast and stable, one of several other modes is used to transmit the image information.

Abstract:
A portable image transport device and corresponding techniques for image transport are disclosed. The portable image transport device accommodates an automatic initiation of image transport when the device is in a designated location by automatically recognizing the location condition and then engaging in communication with a medical device having an image capture capability. A variety of image transport may be performed, such as sending the received image to a printer for printing a hard copy. The portable image transport device also manages restrictions on image transport. Various restrictions may apply including but not limited to the type of devices to which the transport may be made, or certain registered devices to ensure transport only within a defined set of recipient classes or particularly identified recipients.
Abstract:
A medical image is reproduced after being subjected to image processing appropriate for conversion into an image suitable for interpreting. Selection of a imaging menu item from a imaging menu being displayed is accepted, and the medical image is reproduced after being subjected to the image processing for converting the image into the image appropriate for the reproduction according to the selected imaging menu item. At this time, an index value representing an anatomical characteristic is calculated from the medical image, and the most appropriate imaging menu item to be selected from imaging menu items is judged based on the index value.
Abstract:
A comparative review system for displaying views associated with studies on first and second display areas according to a screen layout, a study view mode, and a hanging protocol. The screen layout is used to determine the number of display slots to display in the first and second display areas. This determination along with the study view mode is then used to determine whether to display a study in corresponding display slots associated with the first and second display areas. The number of display slots displayed, whether studies are displayed in corresponding display slots across displays, and the hanging protocol are used to determine which views to display within display slots. Each screen layout, study view mode and hanging protocol is associated with a comparative review mode, which in turn are combined into a comparative review sequence. The comparative review sequence allows for display and navigation through the various modes.

Abstract:
In a medical system architecture and method for interactive transmission and progressive representation of compressed image data of multi-component images, image data are obtained at least one modality with computer workstations being associated with the respective modalities to process the examination images. A device is provided to transfer the examination images; and a device is provided for storage of data and examination images; and further user workstations are provided for post-processing of the examination images. The image data are compressed and organized and stored in packets with specific parameters such that access to individual packets is possible; and the packetized data are decompressed packet-by-packet based on a request from a user workstation, such that multi-component images are generated with progressive parameters.
