    Abstract: A color measurement apparatus includes an incident light processing portion that processes light incident through the opening portion, a light emission portion that emits light toward the measurement target, a first circuit substrate in which the incident light processing portion is disposed, a second circuit substrate in which the light emission portion is disposed, and a frame assembly that is formed of a metal material, and in which the first circuit substrate and the second circuit substrate are disposed, in which the frame assembly includes a main frame that forms a base of the apparatus, a first subframe that holds the first circuit substrate, and a second subframe that holds the second circuit substrate, and the first subframe and the second subframe are in direct or indirect contact with the main frame.

    Abstract: Methods and system for chromatic confocal microscopy are described. One example chromatic confocal microscope system includes a hyperchromatic objective lens configured to focus the light of different wavelengths onto different corresponding focal planes that are separated from one another within a sample object, focusing optics positioned to receive multi-spectral light reflected from the sample object after passing through the hyperchromatic objective lens, a detection slit to receive light from the focusing optics and to block at least a portion of light that is incident thereon, and a grating positioned to receive light after passing through the detection slit and to produce spatially separated light of different wavelengths to enable the detection of spatially separated light by an imaging sensor. The described chromatic confocal microscopes may be used to develop low-cost chromatic confocal endoscopes for disease diagnosis of human internal organs in vivo.

    Abstract: A hyperspectral sensing device may include an optical collector configured to collect light and to transfer the collected light to a sensor having spectral resolution sufficient for sensing hyperspectral data. In some examples, the sensor comprises a compact spectrometer. The device further comprises a power supply, an electronics module, and an input/output hub enabling the device to transmit acquired data (e.g., to a remote server). In some examples, a plurality of hyperspectral sensing devices are deployed as a network to acquire data over a relatively large area.

    Abstract: A spectrometer includes a light detection element provided with a light passing part, a first light detection part, and a second light detection part, a support fixed to the light detection element such that a space is formed, a first reflection part provided in the support and configured to reflect light passing through the light passing part in the space, a second reflection part provided in the light detection element and configured to reflect the light reflected by the first reflection part in the space, and a dispersive part provided in the support and configured to disperse and reflect the light reflected by the second reflection part to the first light detection part in the space. A plurality of second light detection parts is disposed in a region surrounding the second reflection part.

    Abstract: A slit slider assembly for providing a plurality of slits. The slit slider assembly includes: a holder including a first channel and a pair of set screws that each has a ball partially extruding into the first channel; and a slit carrier assembly configured to be slidably disposed in the first channel and carry a slit mask that includes a plurality of slits, the slit carrier assembly including a plurality of dimples for receiving a portion of the ball. When the balls of the pair of set screws engage two dimples of the plurality of the dimples, the holder is configured to pass light through one of the plurality of slits that corresponds to the two dimples.

    Abstract: A CubeSat compatible spectrometer including a slit having a first length and first width; a diffraction grating; and a two dimensional focal plane array electromagnetically coupled to the diffraction grating. The 2D focal plane array includes an array of pixels including a plurality of sets of pixels. Diffraction of electromagnetic radiation transmitted through the slit by the diffraction grating forms a plurality of beams, each of the beams comprising a different one of the bands of the wavelengths in the electromagnetic radiation, and each of the beams transmitted onto a different one of the sets of the pixels.
