    Abstract: A flip chip package unit and associated packaging method. The flip chip package unit may include an integrated circuit (“IC”) die having a plurality of metal pillars formed on its first surface and attached to a rewiring substrate with the first surface of the IC die facing to the rewiring substrate, an under-fill material filling gaps between the first surface of the IC die and the rewiring substrate, and a back protective film attached to a second surface of the IC die. The back protective film may have good UV sensitivity to change from non-solid to solid after UV irradiation while maintaining its viscosity with the IC die not reduced after UV irradiation. The back protective film may be uneasy to deform and to peel off from the IC die and can provide physical protection and effective heat dissipation path to the IC die.

    Abstract: A control method for a switching converter with a main switch and a sync switch and converting an AC (alternating current) input voltage into an output voltage. The control method includes the following steps. 1) Determining whether the switching converter works in DCM or CRM. 2) When the switching converter works in CRM, turning off the sync switch when a first time period started from the time when an inductor current decreases to zero expires. 3) Turning on the main switch at a valley of a voltage across the main switch. And 4) turning off the main switch when an on time of the main switch reaches a second time period, where the second time period is related to the first time period.

    Abstract: A control circuit for a power conversion system having a first-stage power conversion circuit and a second-stage power conversion circuit is provided. The control circuit includes a compensation control circuit and a pre-stage control circuit. The compensation control circuit receives a first feedback signal and a second feedback signal and provides a compensation control signal based on the first feedback signal and the second feedback signal. The first feedback signal indicates a first output voltage provided by the first-stage power conversion circuit. The second feedback signal indicates a second output voltage provided by the second-stage power conversion circuit. The pre-stage control circuit receives the compensation control signal and provides a switching control signal based on the compensation control signal. The switching control signal controls a main switch of the first-stage power conversion circuit.

    Abstract: A totem pole PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit, having: a first switch, a second switch and a control circuit. When the totem pole PFC circuit works in CCM (Continuous Current Mode), the control circuit is configured to turn on a main switch when a current detecting signal indicative of an AC input current of the totem pole PFC circuit decreases to a current valley reference signal, and keep the main switch ON for a first on-time period. When the totem pole PFC circuit works in DCM (Discontinuous Current Mode), the control circuit is configured to turn on the main switch at a valley of a switching voltage after expiry of a time delay started from when the AC input current decreases to zero, and keep the main switch ON for a second on-time period.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a switching mode power supply is disclosed. An auxiliary winding feedback voltage of the switching mode power supply is sampled and held to obtain an auxiliary winding sample hold voltage. The auxiliary winding feedback voltage is sampled and held at an inflection point time to obtain an auxiliary winding inflection point voltage when the switching mode power supply operates in DCM or CRM. A secondary rectifier forward voltage signal is generated based on the auxiliary winding sample hold voltage and the auxiliary winding inflection point voltage before the switching mode power supply operates in CCM. A correction voltage is provided based on the secondary rectifier forward voltage signal when the switching power supply operates in CCM. An error amplifier signal is generated based on the correction voltage. The output power of the switching mode power supply is adjusted based on the error amplifier signal.

    Abstract: A controller used in an isolated switching converter having a transformer and a primary switch, the controller has a gate driver to provide a driving control signal for driving the primary switch. The gate driver receives information indicating a mode of operation of the isolated switching converter. The driving control signal is controlled to being switchable between a first driving strength and a second driving strength based on the information. When the isolated switching converter operates in a continuous conduction mode, the driving control signal is controlled to have the first driving strength, and when the isolated switching converter operates in a discontinuous conduction mode, the driving control signal is controlled to have the second driving strength stronger than the first driving strength.
