Abstract:
A brace, comprising: (i) a palmar piece configured to conform to the palmar side of a user's wrist, comprising an opening sized for the user's thumb, the palmer piece further comprising a first pin extending outwardly from an outer surface of the palmar piece in a first direction, further comprising a second pin extending outwardly from the outer surface in a first direction, wherein the first and second direction are opposite one another; and (ii) a forearm piece configured to conform to the user's forearm, comprising a first pin opening sized to receive the first pin, further comprising an elongated slot configured to receive the second pin in a sliding relationship; wherein the palmar piece is moveable relative to the forearm piece such that the user can move the wrist along the user's dart thrower's plane.
Abstract:
A breathing arrangement includes a patient interface, at least one inlet conduit, and a headgear assembly. The patient interface includes a mouth covering assembly including a cushion structured to sealingly engage around exterior of a patient's mouth in use, a nozzle assembly including a pair of nozzles structured to sealingly engage within nasal passages of a patient's nose in use, and a flexible element connecting the mouth covering assembly and the nozzle assembly. The at least one inlet conduit is structured to deliver breathable gas into at least one of the mouth covering assembly and the nozzle assembly for breathing by the patient. The headgear assembly is removably connected to at least one of the mouth covering assembly and the nozzle assembly so as to maintain the mouth covering assembly and the nozzle assembly in a desired position on the patient's face.
Abstract:
Apparatus for storing/dispensing notes such as bills of monetary value, wherein the notes are stored between opposed webs wound onto drums, and notes having different characteristics may be stored on the same drum.
Abstract:
A method and portable apparatus to evaluate the planar flatness of a paper sheet comprises a pair of closely spaced horizontal edges secured in relative parallelism. The horizontal edges are separated by about three feet. The horizontal edges define a horizontal reference plane over which a sheet section of paper web is mildly tensioned with the web machine direction of the paper sheet oriented transversely of the edges. Substantially between the horizontal edges but slightly below the horizontal reference by about ⅛ to ½ inch is a comparison line in the form of a wire, for example. A fixture supporting the comparison line provides a plurality of wire-end attachment points. Supporting the horizontal edges are a pair of scissor frames that are held open to a predetermined angle by a compression gusset. Opposite ends of a horizontal edge are secured to respective upper ends of each scissor frame. Against the compression stress on the compression gusset, the scissor frame is drawn by a tensioned guy wire.
Abstract:
An improved surgical instrument is provided for applying surgical fasteners, such as staples, to human tissue which is particularly suited for applying one or more rows of fasteners across a tissue lumen. The surgical instrument can be used in thoracic and abdominal surgical procedures where access to the surgical site is restricted. The surgical instrument includes an articulated fastener applying assembly mounted on a rotatable and flexible support shaft assembly to provide more convenient access to restricted surgical sites. The fastener applying assembly has a compact construction including a fixed jaw which supports a fastener cartridge and a movable jaw which supports an anvil for clamping the tissue therebetween. The fastener applying assembly includes a pin placement mechanism which is actuated by the movable jaw to control the movement of a tissue retaining pin on the fixed jaw. A dual cam mechanism is provided for driving the fasteners into the tissue clamped between the anvil and the fastener cartridge. The instrument has an actuator handle assembly with an improved actuator mechanism for closing the jaws and driving the fasteners into the tissue.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a contact center, comprising: (a) a plurality of media servers 112a-n, each of the media servers being associated with a plurality of corresponding agent communication devices 120a-i positioned in a respective agent domain 100a-n; (b) a plurality of gateways 128a-n, each of which is currently controlled by a corresponding one of the plurality of media servers 112a-n and positioned in a contactor domain 104; and (c) a packet-switched Wide Area Network (WAN) 108 connecting the plurality of media servers 128a-n and the plurality of gateways 112a-n. A first gateway 128a is operable to physically park an incoming customer contact in the customer domain 104 until the occurrence of a call transfer event and, upon the occurrence of a call transfer event, to transfer the parked customer contact from the first gateway 128a to at least one of (i) a second media gateway 128b for processing by the second media gateway's corresponding second controlling media server 112b and (ii) a first media server 112a controlling the first gateway 128a.
Abstract:
Electron beam lithography tool image quality evaluating and correcting including a test pattern with a repeated test pattern cell, an evaluation method and correction program product are disclosed. The test pattern cell includes a set of at least three elongated spaces with each elongated space having a different width than other elongated spaces in the set such that evaluation of a number of space widths in terms of tool image quality and calibration can be completed. The evaluation method implements the test pattern cell in a test pattern in at least thirteen sub-field test positions across an exposure field, which provides improved focus and astigmatism corrections for the lithography tool. The program product implements the use of corrections from the at least thirteen sub-field test positions to provide improved corrections for any selected sub-field position.
