Abstract:
A method and device enables tokenless authorization of an electronic payment between a payor and a payee using an electronic identicator and a one payor bid biometric sample. The payor registers with a registration biometric sample, and a payor financial account identifier. The payee registers a payee identification data with the electronic identicator. A payee bid identification data and a payor bid biometric sample are electronically forwarded to the identicator. The bid biometric sample is compared with registered biometric samples and the payee's bid identification data is compared with a payee's registered identification data for a successful or failed identifications of the payor and payee. If the identicator successfully identifies the payor and payee, the identicator electronically forwards a payor financial account identifier to the payee. An electronic financial transaction is then formed comprising a transaction amount and a payor financial account identifier.
Abstract:
The invention as described provides a method and system for tokenless authorization of commercial transactions between a buyer and a seller using a computer system. The method comprises the steps of registering a buyer, wherein the buyer registers with the computer system a PIN, at least one registration biometric sample, and at least one buyer financial account. The method also includes a seller registration step, wherein the seller registers with the computer system at least one seller financial account. In a proposal step, the seller offers a proposed commercial transaction to the buyer usually comprising price information. If the buyer accepts the seller's proposal, in an acceptance step, the buyer signals his/her acceptance by adding to the proposed commercial transaction the buyer's personal authentication information comprising a PIN and at least one bid biometric sample which is obtained from the buyer's person. In a transmission step, the bid biometric sample and PIN are forwarded to the computer system. The computer system compares the bid biometric sample with registration biometric samples for producing either a successful or failed identification of the buyer in a buyer identification step. Upon determination of sufficient resources, a financial account of the buyer is debited and a financial account of the seller is credited, in a payment step. Therefore, a commercial transaction is conducted without the buyer having to use any portable man-made memory devices such as smartcards or swipe cards.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and device for tokenless authorization of an electronic payment between a payor and a payee using an electronic third party identicator and at least one payor bid biometric sample. In a payor registration step, the payor registers with an electronic third party identicator at least one registration biometric sample, and at least one payor financial account identifier. The payee registers a payee identification data with the electronic third party identicator. A payee bid identification data and a payor bid biometric sample collected from the payor's person are electronically forwarded to the third party electronic identicator. A comparator engine compares the bid biometric sample with at least one registered biometric sample for producing either a successful or failed identification of the payor. The comparator engine also compares the payee's bid identification data with a payee's registered identification data for producing either a successful or failed identification of the payee. Once the electronic third-party identicator successfully identifies the payor and payee, the identicator electronically forwards at least one payor financial account identifier to the payee. An electronic financial transaction is then formed between the payor and payee, comprising a transaction amount and a payor financial account identifier. This transaction is then electronically forwarded to a financial transaction processor for authorization.
Abstract:
A method of identifying an individual from examination of their natural physical characteristics is shown. The method comprises obtaining from an individual during a registration process, a fingerprint image having at least one registration pore and at least one registration macrofeature; wherein registration pore data is derived from the registration pores, and registration macrofeature data is derived from the registration macrofeatures. In a bid step, a fingerprint image having at least one bid pore and at least one bid macrofeature is obtained; wherein bid pore data is derived from the bid pores and bid macrofeature data is derived from the bid macrofeatures. Bid associated data is constructed from associating the bid pore data with the bid macrofeature data, and constructing registration associated data derived from associating the registration pore data with the registration macrofeature data. The bid associated data is compared to the registration associated data to produce a correlation score where a successful or failed identification result is produced based on comparison of the correlation score to a predetermined threshold value.
Abstract:
The method of the invention includes a tokenless authorization of a reward transaction between an issuer and a recipient using an electronic identicator and at least one recipient bid biometric sample, the method comprising the following steps. A recipient registration step, wherein a recipient registers with an electronic identicator at least one registration biometric sample. An issuer registration step, wherein the issuer registers identification data with the electronic identicator. During a transaction formation step, wherein an electronic reward transaction is formed between the issuer and the recipient, comprising issuer bid identification data, transaction data, and at least one recipient bid biometric sample, the bid biometric sample is obtained from the issuer's person. In at least one transmission step, the issuer bid identification data, the transaction data, and recipient bid biometric sample are electronically forwarded to the electronic identicator. In a recipient identification step, the electronic identicator compares the bid biometric sample with at least one registered biometric sample for producing either a successful or failed identification of the recipient. In an issuer identification step, the electronic identicator compares the issuer's bid identification data with an issuer's registered identification data for producing either a successful or failed identification of the issuer. Thereby, upon successful identification of the recipient and issuer, a reward transaction is authorized for debit or credit settlement of reward units from the recipient's rewards account, without the recipient presenting any personalized man-made tokens such as smartcards or magnetic swipe cards.
Abstract:
A tokenless identification system and method for authorization of transactions and transmissions. The tokenless system and method are principally based on a correlative comparison of a unique biometrics sample, such as a finger print or voice recording, gathered directly from the person of an unknown user, with an authenticated biometrics sample of the same type obtained and stored previously. The system can be networked to act as a full or partial intermediary between other independent computer systems, or may be the sole computer systems carrying out all necessary executions. The system further contemplates the use of a private code that is returned to the user after the identification has been complete, authenticating and indicating to the user that the computer system was accessed. The identification system and method additionally include emergency notification device to permit an authorized user to alert authorities an access attempt is coerced.
Abstract:
The invention discloses an anti-fraud biometric scanner that determines whether an object exhibits characteristics of blood flow consistent with that of a live human. The anti-fraud biometric scanner has biometric scanning means for obtaining a biometric sample from the object, blood flow detection means for determining whether the object exhibits characteristics of blood flow consistent with that of a live human, and deception detection means for determining if the object is attempting to deceive the blood flow detection means. The blood flow detection means comprises a first light source for illuminating the object, a photodetector for measuring light energy from the object, and computing means for controlling the first light source and processing output from the photodetector. The deception detection means provides means for detecting movement by the object in an attempt to deceptively simulate blood flow. The means for detecting movement uses the computing means and turns off the first light source, turns on a second light source, measures any time-varying light energy from the object, and, if the measured time-varying light energy is above a threshold, determines that fraud is occurring.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a tokenless biometric identification computer system, comprising at least a database containing registered biometric samples of users. A comparator compares a bid biometric sample of a user to at least one registered biometric sample, the bid biometric sample obtained directly from the user during an identification process for conducting an electronic transaction by the user. A stored audio signature is associated with a transaction processor entity, which the transaction processor entity is responsible for conducting the electronic transaction. A sound generator generates an analog or digital signal from the stored audio signature, and a transducer converts the analog or digital signal to a play back audio signature. This invention generates a play back audio signature from the stored audio signature that is associated with the transaction processor entity and the play back audio signature is played back to the user to identify the transaction processor entity that conducted the electronic transaction, wherein no man made personal devices such as credit cards, identity cards or the like is used during the identification process for conducting the electronic transaction.
