Abstract:
Computer-readable media, computer systems, and computing devices for initiating a search function, such as presentation of a search box or initiation of a search, is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes detecting movement of a selector from within a display area to an edge of the display area. Such a selector can be controlled by an input device coupled to a user device. In response to detecting movement of the selector from within the display area to the edge of the display area, a search-query input area associated with a search engine is presented within a display screen view.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods for generating wide-field optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images. In embodiments, multiple OCTA scans of a sample are automatically acquired at overlapping locations. The systems and methods include functionality to adaptively control the scanning procedure such that eye blink and eye motion events are detected in real time and accounted for during 3D scan acquisition. Also disclosed are methods for detecting and correcting motion-related artifacts in OCTA datasets which allow for the longer scan times over larger fields of view required for wide-field imaging. These methods may include division of en face angiogram images into a set of motion-free parallel strips, and application of gross and fine registration methods to align overlapping strips into a motion-corrected composite image. A series of overlapping motion-corrected composite images may be combined into a larger montage to enable wide-field OCTA imaging using multiple OCTA scans.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods to automatically detect choroidal neovasculatization (CNV) in the outer retina using OCT angiography. Further disclosed are methods of removing projection artifacts from the outer retina and for combining brightness, orientation, and position information in a context-aware saliency model to quantify CNV area in OCT angiograms.
Abstract:
Methods of applying OCT angiography are disclosed. In particular, methods of detecting, visualizing and measuring the extent of retinal neovascularization are disclosed. Further disclosed are methods measuring retinal nonperfusion area and choriocapillaris defect area.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for determining a percentage composition of aqueous cells in an anterior chamber of an eye of a subject based on cell reflectance distributions calculated from OCT image data are disclosed. In one example approach, determining a percentage composition of detected aqueous cells may comprise calculating a percentage of the detected aqueous cells which are polymorphonuclear and calculating a percentage of detected aqueous cells which are mononuclear.
Abstract:
A cardiac treatment system of the subject technology provides access across an interatrial septum of a patient. Such a treatment system can include a catheter having an ablation treatment device on an outer surface of a distal region thereof. A needle is provided at least partially within a lumen of the catheter. A control unit is operatively connected to the ablation treatment device for ablation of a portion of a septum by RF ablation. A distal end of a catheter is provided to the septum (e.g., at the fossa ovalis) of the patient while a distal tip of the needle is within the lumen and proximal to the distal end of the catheter. The distal tip of the needle punctures and crosses the septum, and a portion of the septum is ablated with an ablation treatment device aligned with the septum by guidance from the needle.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for applying reagents to tissue mounted on slides, in the field of histology is disclosed. The apparatus holds a number of slides, in slide trays, which are loaded onto the apparatus. Each slide tray forms a batch of slides, with all the batched forming a group. The apparatus holds a number of reagents, grouped into a first group comprising bulk type reagents, and a second group comprising antibodies or probes, and detection systems, for identifying elements of the tissue. A group fluid dispenser, in the form of a robot arm, dispense reagents to the group of slides. Each batch of slides has its own batch fluid dispenser to dispense reagents onto the batch of slides. In on embodiment, the group fluid dispenser dispense antibodies, probes, detection reagents to all slides depending on the protocol defined for each slide, and the batch dispensers dispense bulk reagent to each batch, thus freeing the group fluid dispense from dispensing bulk reagents to all slides.
Abstract:
A spindle motor tray adhesive dispensing method and supplementary apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base block and a pressure block. The base block supports the tray to be processed, having a blind hole for receiving one end of the center axle of the tray and three adhesive troughs around the blind hole. The pressure block pressed on the tray above the base block and axially movable relative to the base block, having a guide hole for receiving the other end of the center axle of the tray. An open space is defined above the base block around the pressure block within which an adhesive dispenser is movable to dispense a polymer adhesive to the through holes on the tray and the adhesive troughs of the base block to form rubber pads at the tray when cured.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to therapeutic combinations comprising (a) Compound (1), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as herein described, (b) an interferon alfa and (c) ribavirin. Compound (1) is a selective and potent inhibitor of the HCV NS3 serine protease. The present invention also relates to methods of using such therapeutic combinations for treating HCV infection or alleviating one or more symptoms thereof in a patient.
Abstract:
This invention provides methods for non-invasive, real-time measuring and/or monitoring of local blood flow in a subject. Methods of the invention generally include the steps of obtaining Doppler shift images of at least two planes intersecting blood vessels at the scanned location; determining Doppler angles using the Doppler shift images; and then using the Doppler angles thus determined together with the Doppler shift signals to arrive at a measure of the volumetric blood flow. Also provided are systems and software for performing the methods.
