Abstract:
This application relates to methods for ligating oligonucleotides having complementarity to a target nucleic acid, and amplifying the ligated oligonucleotides, where ligation and amplification occur in the same reaction mixture.
Abstract:
A method for producing an attapulgite clay (Fuller's Earth) that significantly removes other types of clays and minerals, resulting in improved performance. A unique dispersant is used that will fully disperse the individual attapulgite particles in water such that the particles remain in suspension, and said dispersant will not fully disperse other clay and mineral species, which then can be easily separated through various techniques. The attapulgite clay may be recovered from the dispersion and dried in such a manner to produce a finely sized powder from ore, without the need for any grinding or milling operation. The dried attapulgite clay with adsorbed dispersant is redispersed in water and retain thixotropic properties.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments provide an aluminum image drum and method of its formation such that the aluminum image drum can have a surface texture to provide desirable surface oil consumption and high print quality for solid ink jet marking systems.
Abstract:
Methods of detecting at least one analyte and at least one nucleic acid in a sample are provided. Reagents for carrying out the methods are also provided.
Abstract:
A method for determining bias across two domains comprising gene expression data. The method can comprise (a) providing a first domain and a second domain; (b) obtaining information indicative of a bias within the first domain; (c) obtaining information indicative of a bias within the second domain; and (d) using the information indicative of the bias within the first domain and the information indicative of the bias within the second domain to produce an indication of bias across the two domains.
Abstract:
This application discloses a method of inhibiting degradation of the antidepressant bupropion hydrochloride in a solid pharmaceutical formulation, so that the pharmaceutical formulation will maintain at least 80% of its initial bupropion potency after one year.
Abstract:
A process is provided for removing hydrogen sulfide and alkyl mercaptans from fluid streams by reaction with oxygen in the presence of a metal amino acid chelate in aqueous solution containing an amine, converting hydrogen sulfide to sulfur and alkyl mercaptans to dialkyl disulfides, and separating these from the aqueous metal chelate solution.A process is also provided for removing hydrogen sulfide and alkyl mercaptans from fluid streams in which the gaseous or liquid stream is dispersed in aqueous metal chelate solution in a fine dispersion short of foam formation and passed through a reaction zone at a high flow velocity, where hydrogen sulfide is catalytically oxidized to sulfur, and alkyl mercaptans to dialkyl disulfides, and then into a relatively wide quiescent zone where the dispersion breaks, the gases are separated, and the metal chelate solution recovered.

Abstract:
A window well cover jack that is disclosed. The window well cover jack has three arms: a base arm, a support arm and an actuator handle, all connected to aid in the lifting of a window well cover and allow egress. In one embodiment, the jack is lockable in a stowed position. It is also possible to add a spring assist to aid in the lifting of a window well cover. Ideally, the window well cover jack is also lockable in a deployed position to aid in holding an ajar window well cover so as to facilitate escape. A simple link, which is easily broken by emergency crews with the proper tools but secure against intruders without said tools, connects the window well cover jack to a window well cover.
Abstract:
The present teachings provide methods, compositions, and kits for detecting the presence of protein aggregates. In some embodiments, the protein aggregate is treated with a labeled precursor, and the labeled precursor is incorporated into the protein aggregate to form a labeled protein aggregate. The labeled protein aggregate is then measured, thus detecting the presence of the protein aggregate. In some embodiments, the labeled protein aggregate is detected by interaction of labeled precursors, for example by a proximity ligation assay.
