A case of a disk device has an open-topped rectangular base and a top cover in the form of a rectangular plate screwed to the base. A label is pasted on the top cover. Provided in the case are a disk-shaped recording medium, a head for recording and reproducing information to and from the recording medium, and a mechanical section. The top cover has a depression formed by drawing, the label is pasted on the top cover so as to cover the depression, and at least a part of the depression is exposed to form an opening portion.

Disclosed are a magnetic disc apparatus and a manufacturing method of the same. The magnetic disc apparatus including: a tray-shaped bottom container member having a first standing portion; a tray-shaped upper container member having a second standing portion, provided to face and contact the second standing portion with the first standing portion of the tray-shaped bottom container member; a functional component group including a disc clamper which is housed in an inside of a container formed by the tray-shaped bottom container member and the tray-shaped upper container member; and a seal member without seam provided on a circumferential outer wall surface of the container formed by the tray-shaped bottom container member and the tray-shaped upper container member, the circumferential outer wall surface including at least a region facing a contacting portion of the first standing portion and the second standing portion.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a base having a bottom wall, a motor provided on the base, a disk rotatably supported on the motor, a head, and a head actuator which supports the head for movement with respect to the recording medium. The bottom wall of the base includes a recess opposing a movement region for the head actuator and a first step portion and a second step portion which individually extend from the vicinities of the motor to the vicinities of an outer peripheral edge of the recording medium and define the recess. At least a part of the first step portion is located on the opposite side of the head actuator with respect to a line which connects an outer end portion of the first step portion and a center of rotation of the recording medium.

A magnetic disk of a magnetic disk device includes a flat disk-shaped substrate having a center hole and recording regions provided individually on obverse and reverse surfaces of the substrate. Each of the recording regions includes a data region pattern having a patterned magnetic material shape and a plurality of servo region patterns arranged in given phases in the circumferential direction of the substrate. The servo region patterns of the recording region on the obverse side of the substrate and the servo region patterns of the recording region on the reverse side are shifted in phase from one another.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a disk, a drive section which is configured to support and rotate the disk, a head, and a head actuator assembly. The head actuator assembly includes a board unit including a base portion on which an electronic component is mounted, a main flexible printed circuit board which is configured to extend from the base portion and have a connecting end portion attached to the carriage, and a reinforcing plate including a bent portion fixed to the main flexible printed circuit board, and a vibration damper which is configured to include a sheet-shaped viscoelastic material stuck on the bent portion and a sheet-shaped reinforcing material, more rigid than the viscoelastic material and stuck on the viscoelastic material in superposed relation, and suppress vibration of the reinforcing plate.
