Abstract: The apparatus includes a laser to vaporize or break down an analyte desired to be measured (e.g. PCB or PCB like compounds) in a surface area. The analyte is vaporized and transported to an absorption trap for analysis. Typically the system is sufficiently portable to take to a site and acquire samples for analysis on site. The analytes can be analyzed directly from the absorption trap without solvent extraction processes. Typically the system is portable allowing acquisition and analysis on site.
