Abstract:
Surfactin is a biosurfactant produced by Bacillus subtilis and is a natural cycloaliphatic peptide having a ring structure made of 7 amino acids. The surfactin has various functions including anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, increasing skin penetration of cosmetic products (skin penetration agent), foaming agent, and emulsifier.
Abstract:
An intelligent canopy greenhouse control system is provided with two main brackets symmetrically arranged, each of which penetrates a curved tubular beam at its upper edge for the curved tubular beam's one end to protrude from each main bracket. Several small crossbeams are installed between two curved tubular beams for a reinforced structure. At least a louvered shutter is provided between two curved tubular beams and between two main brackets. A film is covered between two curved tubular beams, and steel sheets are freely connected to gaps between two main brackets and under the lower edges of two curved tubular beams for development of a first skeleton unit with gutters installed, around which a canopy greenhouse can be assembled with a plurality of first skeleton units.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device and the method thereof are disclosed. The wireless communication device in accordance with the present invention includes an integrated protocol layer supporting a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol; a single transceiver operative to transmit and receive signals of said first and said second communication protocols.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for canceling a near-end echo of a far-end signal for each channel of a voice over packet multi-channel communications gateway. The invention applies “off-the-shelf” coding mechanisms as well as novel coding schemes to provide fixed compression rate and with options to maintain perfect speech integrity on certain processing components, such as network echo canceller, acoustic echo canceller, Voice Activity Detector, Comfort Noise Generation, etc. The off-the-shelf compression algorithm includes LPC-10, G.723.1, G.729A. The alternatives are Wavelet transform, DPCM, and ADPCM, etc.
Abstract:
Surfactin is produced from Bacillus subtilis ssp. containing sfp gene (lipopeptide biosurfactants produced by fermentation). Production of surfactin at present is mainly by liquid fermentation, but the production costs are high due to difficulty in purification resulted from addition of the defoaming agent during the production process. Therefore, present invention conducts physical or chemical mutation on Bacillus subtilis subsp. isolated from Thailand seawater shrimp ponds and screens for the mutant strain of Bacillus subtilis subsp. based on sfp gene expression and then produces surfactin from the mutant strain by semi-solid state fermentation.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an antimicrobial peptide, monodoncin, which is isolated and purified from Penaeus monodon and is capable of being mass produced by molecular cloning techniques in a heterologous expression system, such as yeast. Monodoncin demonstrates a wide-range of bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects on G(−) and G(+) bacteria as well as fungicidal activities, and can be used in combination with conventional antibiotics as “cocktail therapy” to improve the therapeutic effects of the conventional antibiotics.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a register-indirect addressing mode using modulo arithmetic to transpose addresses for digital processing systems. The preferred systems and methods permit direct access of column data, which improves matrix computation significantly. The overhead of transpose mode is minimal because it can be implemented, if desired, by sharing hardware and/or software used in circular buffers. Transpose addressing mode also reduces program size and processor power consumed by reducing the sequence of instruction cycles.
Abstract:
A flip-flop (14) is disclosed that includes an input circuit (50), a sense amplifier (52) and an output circuit (56). The input circuit (50) is operable to receive a data input signal and to generate complementary data signals. The sense amplifier (52) is coupled to the input circuit (50). The sense amplifier (52) is operable to receive the data signals from the input circuit (50) and to generate complementary amplified signals based on the data signals. The output circuit (56) is coupled to the sense amplifier (52). The output circuit (56) is operable to receive the amplified signals from the sense amplifier (52) and to generate complementary output signals based on the amplified signals.
