Abstract:
An improved single-row multi-point-contact ball bearing for an electromagnetic clutch and pulley and for a compressor for an automobile air conditioner is provided, which has a low relative inclination between the inner and outer rings and rotatable at a high revolution of about 10,000 rpm, and yet inexpensive requiring a small axial space. A single-row four-point contact angular ball bearing is provided which comprises an one-piece inner and outer rings. Each raceway surface of the inner and outer rings is made to form a Gothic-arched configuration having two curved surfaces, and each radius of curvature of the two curved surfaces is made to range substantially 0.515 to 0.55 of the outer diameter of a ball. Further, a single-row three-point contact angular ball bearing is provided which comprises an one-piece inner and outer rings, wherein at least one of the raceway surfaces of the inner and outer rings is made to form a Gothic-arched configuration having two curved surfaces, and each radius of curvature of the two curved surfaces is made to range substantially 0.51 to 0.55 of the outer diameter of a ball. And the other raceway surface of the inner and outer rings is made to have a single curved surface having a radius of curvature ranging substantially 0.505 to 0.56 of the outer diameter of the ball.

A welding resistance electrode chip of this invention comprises a front end to be brought into contact with a substance to be welded, an intermediate cylinder disposed on and in contact with the tail end of front end, and a main cylinder having a closed end disposed on and in contact with the tail end of front end and the tail end and the inner wall of intermediate cylinder. It is sintered and molded out of appropriate copper-based powder materials respectively satisfying the requirements of portions thereof: The front end is made of a powder material having good thermal shock resistance and wear resistance, the intermediate cylinder is made of a powder material having high tenacity to suppress the deformation of the front end, and the main cylinder is made of a powder material having high conductivity. Therefore, the durability of resistance welding electrode chip of this invention has been improved remarkably, and the operation rate of equipment has been improved.

Abstract:
A method of repairing a cylinder head of a water cooled internal combustion engine that has damage to the boundary wall between a cooling water passage and the combustion chamber. According to the method. the boundary wall B located between a cooling water passage and a combustion chamber and including a crack is cut away from a cylinder head until the cut reaches a depth of one half the cross section of the cooling water passage. Then, a half-pipe portion. having a semicircular cross section that is equal in size to one-half the cross section of the cooling water passage is fixed in the cylinder head from which the boundary wall B has been removed such that an inner surface of the half-pipe may serve to form a cooling water passage after repair. With the use of the above method, the repair operation is completed easily with a low cost because the boundary wall B has only to be cut away to a shallow depth. Further, the use of a half-pipe portion, together with the remainder of the original cooling water passage ensures that the cooling water passage will be restored to its original state.

A dimension measuring apparatus, for automatically measuring a dimension of a workpiece as the workpiece is on a production line, has a probe with a tapered end for insertion into a hole of the workpiece to be measured. The probe is supported by a second movable base provided on a first movable base. The first movable base is slidably provided on a frame member in one direction in a planar level and the second movable base is slidably provided on a grooved upper surface of the first movable base in another direction perpendicular to the one direction in the planar level. The movement value of the probe is detected by means of detecting the movement values of the first and second movable bases through potentiometers.

A grease composition for rolling bearings is disclosed which contains:(A) 100 parts by weight of a base oil having the kinematic viscosity of 40 to 200 mm.sup.2 /s at 40.degree. C.,(B) 5 to 65 parts by weight of a urea thickener, and(C) 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of zinc dithiocarbamate,the composition being free of boron nitride. This grease composition is suitable for application to rolling bearings in electrical components and accessory devices for automotive vehicles, such as alternators, electromagnetic clutches for car air conditioners, idle pulleys, electric fan motors, or the like.
