Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of decomposing hard type rubber products, which comprises treating hard type rubber products with a microorganism belonging to the genus Nocardia in the presence of soft type rubber products. According to the present invention, hard type rubber products, particularly tires, can be efficiently decomposed.

Abstract:
Epoxy group-containing organic silicon compounds represented by general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R, which may be the same or different, each represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group free from an aliphatic unsaturated bond; a represents 1 or 2; and n represents an integer of 2 to 6. The epoxy-containing organic silicon compounds contain no hydrolyzable group therein and are suited for use in coupling of organic compounds and modification or crosslinking of polymers.
Abstract:
The desired program information are read by an optical bar code reading section from a program medium containing program information for automatic broadcast program recording, such as, channels, dates, start times and end times in bar code form. After the program information thus read have been temporarily stored in a program memory section, a transfer switch is operated so that the program information stored in the program memory section are converted to infrared remote control signals and are then transmitted in a wireless manner to an electronic equipment (e.g., a video tape recorder) to be controlled, thereby recording the program for the recording of the desired broadcast program.
Abstract:
A vinylsilane compound represented by general formula (I):R.sup.1 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 SiR.sub.a.sup.2 (CH.dbd.CH.sub.2)3-a (I)wherein R.sup.1 represents a monovalent alicyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon group selected from the group consisting of a cyclohexenyl group and a bicycloheptenyl group; R.sup.2 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group free from an aliphatic unsaturated bond; and a represents 1 or 2, is herein disclosed.
Abstract:
A knockout mouse which is unresponsive to peptidoglycan, a lipoprotein/lipopeptide and the like, and is useful for elucidating the contribution of individual members of the TLR family to a signaling stimulated with bacterial cell components in vivo, in particular, the role of TLR2 and MyD88 in vivo. A bacterial cell component-unresponsive knockout mouse is generated by a process comprising the steps of: a targeting vector is constructed by replacing a whole or a part of a gene fragment of an exon region containing a cytoplasmic region of TLR2 or MyD88 gene and the like with a plasmid having a poly A signal and a marker gene; the targeting vector is introduced into an embryonic stem cell; the targeting embryonic stem cell having a homologously recombined TLR2 or MyD88 gene is microinjected into the blastocyst of a mouse and the blastocyst is put back into the uterus of a recipient mouse.
Abstract:
Biodisintegrable thermoplastic resin moldings and a process for producing same are disclosed, the biodisintegrable thermoplastic resin moldings being comprised of a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester resin as a matrix resin having dispersed therein an other type of thermoplastic resin in a proportion of 40-75 weight % based on the whole resin. The biodisintegrable thermoplastic resin moldings is easily disintegrable after disposal in an environment where microorganisms exist so that the moldings can be reduced in bulkness and give no harmful effect on the life of natural plants and animals. Thus, the present invention affords an effective means for solving various problems in the treatment of disposed plastic articles.
Abstract:
A biodegradable plastic composition is disclosed which includes a polycaprolactone and a poly-.beta.-hydroxybutyrate. Disclosed also is a biodegradable plastic shaped body formed of such a composition. The shaped body may be produced by melt-mixing a blend of a polycaprolactone, a poly-.beta.-hydroxybutyrate and a copolymerization catalyst to copolymerize a portion of the polycaprolactone with a portion of the poly-.beta.-hydroxybutyrate, thereby to obtain a caprolactone/.beta.-hydroxybutyric acid copolymer-containing melt, which is subsequently shaped into a desired form.
Abstract:
A rubber composition obtained by compounding (B) from 0.005 to 50 parts by weight of an polyorganohydrogensiloxane and (C) from 0.00001 to 1 part by weight of a compound of a transition metal belonging to the group VIII with (A) 100 parts by weight of a rubber-forming polymer mainly comprising (I) from 3 to 70% by weight of a polyorganosiloxane represented by the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R represents a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent organic group, 0.02 to 10 mole % of which being a vinyl group; and a represents a number of from 1.900 to 2.004,and having a degree of polymerization of from 500 to 10,000 and (II) from 30 to 97% by weight of organic rubber, and subjecting the resulting compound to hydrosilylation while effecting shear deformation. The rubber composition is excellent in roll processing properties, mechanical strength, heat resistance, and low-temperature property and is suitable as oil seal and rubber hose.
Abstract:
A sawtooth wave forming circuit has an input signal alternately applied to the bases of first and a second transistors forming a differential amplifier, and a circuit which permits flow of a current equal to or proportional to the current flowing in the collector of the first transistor is connected between the differential amplifier and a power source. A capacitor is provided between ground and the junction between the circuit and differential amplifier. With this arrangement, the charge-discharge cycle of the capacitor is controlled by means of the input signal.By making use of the sawtooth wave forming circuit constituted in this way, stable trapezoidal or triangular waves having only small fluctuations in the slopes of the sides of the wave can be formed.
