Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for the manufacture of tubular containers of the type comprising a tubular body of flexible packaging material joined to an end closure member wherein the end closure member is first supported on a mandrel, a flat sheet of the body material is fed to the mandrel and folded into a tube around the end closure member and thereafter joined thereto to form a completed container. As a further feature, the apparatus may include means for thermally reflowing a portion of the end closure member if it is of a construction which includes a radially-extending flange that is thermally reflowable to the final position in which it is disposed axially of the container body.
Abstract:
A PACKAGING FILM CAPABLE OF BEING FORMED INTO A COLLAPSIBLE CONTAINER, SUCH AS A TOOTHPASE TUBE, THAT INCLUDES LAYERS OF METAL FOIL, CASEIN ADMIXED WITH AN ELASTOMERIC COMPOUND, ADHESIVE AND HEAT SEALABLE MATERIAL JOINED TOGETHER, AND WHICH IS CHARACTERIZED AS BEING ABLE TO WITHSTAND PROLONGED STORAGE OF FLUORIDE-CONTAINING TOOTHPASES WITHOUT ADVERSE DELAMINATION OF THE LAYERS. THE CASEIN-ELASTOMER LAYER ACTS AS A PROTECTIVE LAYER THAT PROVIDES RETARDATION OF DELAMINATION OF THE OTHER LAYERS OF THE FILM WHEN USED IN A PACKAGE FOR FLUORIDE TOOTHPASES.
Abstract:
The assembly comprises a rotatably mounted capstan member, a pulley member having an annular groove and a line guide means including a gate portion to direct the movement of the line from the capstan member onto the pulley member. The pulley member is mounted to rotate with the capstan member. The line guide means is disposed in fixed relationship with respect to the capstan and pulley members. The assembly of this invention may be used in combination with a power source to form a line pulling device.
