Abstract: One example includes a superconducting serial-to-parallel converter system. The system includes a plurality of serial-input-parallel-output (SIPO) cells arranged in a sequence between a first SIPO cell and a last SIPO cell. Each of the SIPO cells is configured to convert a plurality of serial superconducting bits of a serial data stream into a set of parallel superconducting bits in response to an enable pulse. The enable pulse is provided through the sequence of SIPO cells from the first SIPO cell to the last SIPO cell based on the clock signal. The serial data stream is provided through the sequence of the SIPO cells from the last SIPO cell to the first SIPO cell based on a clock signal.

Abstract: One example includes a data alignment system. The system includes a first coupling circuit configured to receive a return-to-zero (RTZ) input pulse and to generate a first single flux quantum (SFQ) pulse in response to the RTZ input pulse being aligned with a phase window of a first clock signal. The system also includes a second coupling circuit configured to receive the RTZ input pulse and to generate a second SFQ pulse in response to the RTZ input pulse being aligned with a phase window of a second clock signal, the first and second clock signals being opposite in phase. The system further includes an alignment circuit that is configured to generate an output SFQ pulse that is aligned to one of the first and second clock signals in response to receiving at least one of the first and second SFQ pulses.

Abstract: A tool for forming a composite structure may include two or more segments formed from a polymer material. The tool may further include a crush insert disposed between the two or more segments. The tool may also include a support shaft coupled between the two or more segments. A method of forming a mandrel may include forming segments of the mandrel through an additive manufacturing process. The method may further include assembling the segments relative to one another. The method may also include positioning a crush insert between each of the segments. A method of fabricating a composite structure is also disclosed.

Abstract: A conforming dismount antenna for use in a communication system includes a signal converter, a modulation component, a flexible fiber optic cable, and a flexible radiating element. The flexible fiber optic cable connects the conforming dismount antenna to a radio transceiver. The conforming dismount antenna bends to the contours of the user wearing the conforming dismount antenna or conforming to the contours of camouflage netting resting on a vehicle. When transmitting or receiving a broadcast, the conforming dismount antenna converts the radio frequency signal into a digital optical signal within the conforming dismount antenna. Communication systems including the conforming dismount antenna and methods of using the conforming dismount antenna are also described.

Abstract: In some examples, an analyzer manager configured to select one of a program code analyzer, a static data analyzer, and an unused memory location analyzer for malware detection within memory of a system. The program code analyzer can be executed to evaluate instruction data for executing a computer program at a first set of memory locations within the memory for malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager. The static data analyzer can be executed to evaluate static data for use by the computer program at a second set of memory locations within the memory for the malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager. The unused memory location analyzer can be executed to evaluate null data indicative of unused memory locations at a third set of memory locations within the memory for the malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager.

Abstract: An optical data transmission device for providing optical signals containing information data between avionics systems in an aircraft. A fixed optical transceiver array at a first side of a slip ring is in optical communication with a revolving optical transceiver array positioned at a second side of the slip ring. A set of mirrors coated with dielectric material are positioned at the central axis of the slip ring and configured to maintain optical communication between the optical transceiver arrays. The first mirror is fixed at the first side of the slip ring. The second mirror positioned at the second side of the slip ring rotates in concert with the second transceiver array. The mirrors are formed of a material allowing optical signals to be reflected by the mirrors while concurrently allowing a laser beam of an external system to pass through the mirrors and maintain travel along a linear axis.

Abstract: One example includes a long Josephson junction gate system that includes a continuous long Josephson junction. The continuous long Josephson junction includes a dielectric layer, an electrode layer formed on the dielectric layer and extending along a soliton propagation direction on the dielectric layer, and a dielectric oxide layer formed on the electrode layer and extending along the soliton propagation direction. The continuous long Josephson junction also includes a metallic signal layer formed on the dielectric oxide layer and extending along the soliton propagation direction entirely over the dielectric oxide layer. The arrangement of the continuous long Josephson junction can be approximated by a repeating sequence of a grounded Josephson junction and an inductor to provide a critical current and inductance that define a soliton energy of a soliton propagating in the continuous long Josephson junction.
