Abstract:
In part, the invention relates to an image data collection system. The system can include an interferometer having a reference arm that includes a first optical fiber of length of L1 and a sample arm that includes a second optical fiber of length of L2 and a first rotary coupler configured to interface with an optical tomography imaging probe, wherein the rotary coupler is in optical communication with the sample arm. In one embodiment, L2 is greater than about 5 meters. The first optical fiber and the second optical fiber can both be disposed in a common protective sheath. In one embodiment, the system further includes an optical element configured to adjust the optical path length of the reference arm, wherein the optical element is in optical communication with the reference arm and wherein the optical element is transmissive or reflective.
Abstract:
A propellant charge for a recoilless gun, in particular a propellant charge for a round of a reloadable support weapon. The propellant charge is cylindrically shaped and adapted for loading into a charge chamber formed between an inner casing and an outer casing of the round.

Abstract:
A male connector (13; 20; 30; 40) for a sensor and guide wire assembly (1) for intravascular measurements of a physiological variable in a living body comprises a number of conductive members (12) separated by insulating materials (14, 15, 16; 23, 24, 25; 33, 34; 43). According to the invention, the insulating material has a hydrophobic outer surface (16; 25; 33; 43) to prevent electrically conductive contaminations from forming a superficial, electrically conductive path between two neighbouring conductive members.
Abstract:
A puck for a three-dimensional magnetoelastic force transducer, with a cylindrically-shaped body having a circular cross-section, a semi-spherically-shaped first end surface and a second end surface having an annular flange with an outer diameter corresponding to the diameter of the circular cross section of the body; the body comprising a substantially solid magnetoelastic material with a center axis extending between the middle of the first and second bottom surfaces; the body having at least three force-measuring zones equidistantly spaced from the center axis and symmetrically distributed within the body; each of the at least three force-measuring zones having respective holes for receiving excitation and measuring windings; and force transmission paths extending between the intersection of the center axis and the first end surface, the intersection forming a point of application of force to the force transducer, and each of the at least three force-measuring zones to the annular flange.
Abstract:
For measuring tensile force in a continuous strip or web, load cells are arranged between a bearing housing for a deflector roll, over which the web runs, and a fixed base. A load cell comprises a load cell housing and consists of two yokes (1, 2) facing the bearing housing and the base, respectively, and a force transducer which together with membranes (3 . . . 6) are arranged between the yokes to connect these together. At the end plates of the yokes, screw holes (8 . . . 15) are provided to attach the yokes to the bearing housing and the base, respectively. At each screw hole there is provided a gap (16) so that, around each screw hole, a tubular body is formed and that the plane outwardly-facing surfaces (17) of the bodies are plane-parallel and extend outside the otherwise plane outwardly-facing surfaces of the yokes.
Abstract:
A mechanical coupling between a drive source and a load object. The coupling includes a tube which at one end is covered with a plate and at its other end is provided with a weak flange with holes for securing the coupling to the drive source by screws. Concentrically in the coupling and to the plate, one end of the transducer shaft is attached. The other end of the transducer shaft is connected to the load object with the aid of a joint.
Abstract:
A magnetoelastic force transducer according to the invention comprises two closed magnetic circuits. The transducer is constructed in such a way that the reluctance in one of the magnetic circuits will be changed when the transducer is subjected to a force as a result of changes in the magnetic permeability caused by magnetostriction. The second magnetic circuit is formed so as to have an essentially unchanged reluctance when the transducer is loaded and is used to compensate for those changes in the permeability of the material arising for reasons other than magnetostriction.
