Abstract:
A front tire heating and cleaning system for a vehicle includes a brake system configured to selectively apply hydraulic braking pressure against front wheels and rear wheels of the vehicle, and a controller in signal communication with the brake system. The controller is configured to, upon receipt of a request, initiate a controlled front tire heating mode where the brake system is controlled to selectively apply hydraulic braking pressure against the rear wheels and not the front wheels, and rotate the front wheels to increase tire temperature for improved front wheel traction during off-road maneuvers.
Abstract:
A method and system for determining center coordinates of a circular arc uses a position sensor, such as a GPS receiver, for receiving position coordinates for a plurality of points along the circular arc. The position coordinates for the plurality of points are then processed using an algorithm developed based on the geometric relationship for a cone inscribed in a sphere, with the sphere representing the Earth, the position coordinates defining points along a base perimeter of the cone, and an apex of the cone being located at the center of the Earth. A regression model is used to determine the center coordinates of the circular arc in a three-dimensional coordinate system without converting the position coordinates into two-dimensional coordinates. The method and system can be used to determine center coordinates for a center pivot sprinkler monitoring system or a vehicle guidance system.
Abstract:
A vehicle includes a propulsion system configured to selectively drive at least one wheel of a plurality of wheels, a brake system configured to selectively brake at least one wheel of the plurality of wheels, and a dig lock controller in signal communication with the propulsion system and the brake system. The dig lock controller is configured to, based on a driver request, selectively perform a vehicle rotating dig lock operation by braking one wheel of the plurality of wheels while driving at least one other wheel of the plurality of wheels to move the vehicle laterally about a pivot point at least partially defined by the braked wheel.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for treating a flow back fluid exiting a well site following stimulation of a subterranean formation. More specifically, the invention relates to processing the flow back fluid, and separating into a carbon dioxide rich stream and a carbon dioxide depleted stream, and continuing the separation until the carbon dioxide concentration in the flow back stream until the carbon dioxide concentration in the flow back gas diminishes to a point selected in a range of about 50-80 mol % in carbon dioxide concentration, after which the lower concentration carbon dioxide flow back stream continues to be separated into a carbon dioxide rich stream which is routed to waste or flare, and a hydrocarbon rich stream is formed.
Abstract:
A valve including a closure member having a first portion and a second portion the first and second portions in fluid tight contact with one another when closed and spaced when open, a flow tube in operative contact with the closure member.
Abstract:
The invention is an enclosure installed on oil well equipment to capture escaping gas emissions and recover them using intermittent use of a vapor recovery unit which evacuates the gas that slowly accumulates in the enclosure to a custody line for commercial or treatment elsewhere.
Abstract:
A structural component for use in building construction including a first and second support material member, an insulating material, and a first securing member. The first support material member may have a first length, a first side, and an opposing second side. The second support material member may have a second length, a first side, and an opposing second side. The second support material member may oppose the first support material member. The insulating material may be disposed between the first support material member and the second support material member. The first securing member may be adapted to secure the first support material member to the second support material member.
Abstract:
The invention is a method of forming a cadmium sulfide based buffer on a copper chalcogenide based absorber in making a photovoltaic cell. The buffer is sputtered at relatively high pressures. The resulting cell has good efficiency and according to one embodiment is characterized by a narrow interface between the absorber and buffer layers. The buffer is further characterized according to a second embodiment by a relatively high oxygen content.
Abstract:
Verification of patient sample electrolyte results using a separate quantitative measurement of sample resistivity. Sample resistivity may be used to measure small differences in resistivity of one sample to the next, and in comparison to a standard solution, in order to verify the results of sample electrolyte measurements being measured at the same time by, for example, individual ion selective electrodes (ISE) in a clinical analyzer. Providing a separate or secondary quantitative means for verification of the measured results of sample electrolytes using sample resistivity solves the problem of electrolyte result variability in sample electrolyte measurements. The process may compare a measured sample resistivity to an expected resistivity value as a verification of the accuracy of individual electrolyte results. Suspect samples—e.g., where the electrolyte resistivity results do not fit the expected resistivity—may be flagged. This separate verification step provides added confidence in the measured electrolyte results and can identify when problems occur or interferences are present in real time.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for unfreezing a window from a window seal are disclosed. According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the apparatus includes a vehicle door assembly including a vehicle door and a window. The apparatus further includes a window seal that receives an upper edge of the window and a heating element coupled to the upper edge or the window seal. The system further includes a power source that provides an electrical current to the heating element and a control module configured to receive a remote unlock signal from a remote device, obtain a temperature signal indicating a temperature in response to the remote unlock signal, compare the temperature indicated by the temperature signal to a temperature threshold, and cause the power source to provide the electrical current to the heating element when the temperature is less than the temperature threshold.
