    Abstract: A protection circuit includes a coding chip, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a control circuit. The coding chip receives parallel voltage identification definition (PVID) signals or serial voltage identification definition (SVID) signals from a central processing unit (CPU), and converts the PVID signals or the SVID signals to voltage identification definition (VID) signals. The DAC receives the VID signals from the coding chip, and converts the VID signals to an analog voltage. The control circuit receives the analog voltage from the DAC and a voltage received by the CPU, and compares the analog voltage from the DAC with the voltage received by the CPU. When the voltage received by the CPU is greater than the analog voltage from the DAC, the control circuit disconnects the CPU from a first power supply.

    Abstract: A system and method for controlling a touchpad of an electronic device detects if a lingering touch is detected on a first region of the touchpad. If the lingering touch is detected on the first region, functions of a second region and a third region of the touchpad are disabled. If a subsequent contact is also detected on the first region, an object displayed on the display activates zoom function. If the lingering touch is detected on the second region, functions of the third region are disabled. If the lingering touch is detected on the second region and a subsequent sliding touch is detected on the first region, the object is may be dragged according to the sliding touch on the touchpad.

    Abstract: A clip for a basic input/output system (BIOS) chip includes a main body, two spindles, two clipping elements, and two torsion springs. The main body includes a number of connecting pins mounted on a bottom of the main body, and a number of signal pins mounted on a top of the main body and electrically and correspondingly connected to the number of the connecting pins. The clipping elements are rotatably mounted to opposite ends of the main body through the spindles. The torsion springs are mounted between the clipping members and the main body. The connecting pins of the main body respectively electrically contacts a number of chip pins of the BIOS chip in response to the clipping elements clipping the BIOS chip.
