    Abstract: A touchpad includes an operating plate having an operating surface on which an inputting operation is performed, an added feature part attached to a first surface of the operating plate opposite from the operating surface, a sensing unit disposed to face toward at least a portion of the first surface, the portion being at least a part of an area of the first surface other than an area to which the added feature part is attached, a holding member disposed at a predetermined distance apart from a first face of the added feature part, the first face of the added feature part being opposite from a second face thereof facing toward the operating plate, and a support member situated between, and in contact with, the added feature part and the holding member, wherein the support member has a lower Young's modulus than the added feature part and the holding member.

    Abstract: An input device includes a display that displays buttons visible through an operation surface of a top panel, a detector that detects a center position of a finger facing the operation surface, and a distance from the operation surface to the finger, and a controller that controls the display based on a detector output and determines an input with respect to a button. The controller displays a cursor image on the display at a finger opposing position based on the finger center position, varies a cursor size according to the above described distance, determines a selected button based on the finger center position, and offsets a cursor center position from the finger center position, and surrounds the selected button with the cursor, in a case where the selected button protrudes from the cursor when the cursor center position is aligned to match the finger center position.

    Abstract: A contactless input device includes a plurality of sensor electrodes and a determination unit. The plurality of sensor electrodes are configured to, when a hand performs an operational input over an operating surface of an operating part in a contactless manner, detect individual capacitances correlated to proximity of the hand to the operating surface. The determination unit is configured to calculate sharpnesses of the hand at a plurality of different locations in plan view based on the respective capacitances detected by the plurality of sensor electrodes and determine a location of the operational input based on the sharpnesses.

    Abstract: A capacitance measurement circuit module has: a sensor electrode, for input detection, disposed on a wiring board; a sensor-side shield electrode shielding the sensor electrode; board-side measurement terminals connected to the sensor electrode; a board-side shield terminal connected to the sensor-side shield electrode; a measurement integrated circuit having circuit-side measurement terminals connected to the board-side measurement terminals and a circuit-side shield terminal connected to the board-side shield terminal, the circuit outputting measurement signals from the circuit-side measurement terminals and outputting, from the circuit-side shield terminal, a shield signal having the same frequency and phase as the measurement signals, the circuit being disposed on the wiring board and measuring capacitance of the sensor electrode; and a circuit-side shield electrode that is positioned on the wiring board so as to face the measurement integrated circuit and to be adjacent to the board-side measurement terminals and is connected to the board-side shield terminal.
