Abstract:
The invention in general relates to glass or glass-ceramic products. In order to protect the surface of such products against scratching, a silicon oxynitride coating with special composition is provided.
Abstract:
A medical implant, in particular a pacemaker, cardioverter, defibrillator or the like, having at least one functional unit (2, 4), such as, for example, an energy storage (2), control electronics (4) or a combination thereof, and a housing (20) for accommodating the at least one functional unit (2, 4). The medical implant furthermore comprises at least one electrode (10), having a connection end (12), an electrode lead (11) and a stimulation end (13), the connection end (12) of the electrode (10) being arranged in the housing (20) for accommodating the at least one functional unit (2, 4).
Abstract:
A computer network system comprising a plurality of client hardware elements forming a computer network (414); a server network segment (412); and a router (416) for interconnecting the computer network (414) with the server network segment (412); the computer network (414) being assigned at least one first access address range, and the server network segment (412) being assigned at least one second access address range and at least one third access address range, wherein the at least one second access address range is separate from the at least one first access address range and the at least one third access address range represents at least a sub-range of the at least one first access address range, and wherein the router (416) is set up to only route addresses within the same access address range.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a mobile patient care system comprising a patient care device (2, 5), a control unit (3), a power supply unit (4), and a support (6) to which the patient care device, the control unit, and the power supply unit are fixed and which can be suspended on the patient's bed by means of a holding device (8).
Abstract:
Method for avoiding the detection of a far-field QRS by the atrial detector of a heart pacemaker or ICD while allowing the detection of a true atrial signal to a maximum possible extent; the method comprising generating a Short Atrial Refractory Period (SARP) following an atrial sensed or paced event by means of a SARP timer, blanking of the atrial detector following a ventricular paced event, generating a Post Ventricular Short Atrial Refractory Period (PVSARP) following a ventricular sensed or paced event by means of a PVSARP timer, generating a temporary decrease in the sensivity of an amplifier for the atrial signal for a time period following the elapse of the mentioned PVSARP, and gradually increasing the sensitivity of the amplifier for the atrial signal after said time period.
Abstract:
A life support system such as a heart-lung machine may include a plurality of medical devices a control panel and an excellent control position. The control panel may have separate control elements for operating the medical devices. The control panel may be constructed protruding essentially flat over a floor area of the majority of the medical devices. The control panel may be constructed to protrude in such a manner, that a control element, aligned only with a particular device and with the control position, is assigned to each device.
Abstract:
A temperature-resistant glass or glass-ceramic pane is provided. The pane includes a substrate and a tin-oxide layer comprising antimony deposited on the substrate.
Abstract:
An apparatus for extracorporeal oxygenation of a patient's blood during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. The apparatus comprises a bubble sensor, arranged at or connected to a venous line, for detecting bubbles in the venous blood received from the patient. When air bubbles are detected, a second pump is activated to draw air from an air chamber provided in an air filter connected to the venous line and arranged downstream of the bubble sensor. A first pump draws the blood from the air filter and supplies the blood to an oxygenator and to the patient via an arterial line.
Abstract:
A backward motion stop for a car to be pulled up in a guiding device is provided and consists of a catch lever engaging in a catch rail such that it operates noiselessly. For this purpose, an induction strut is laid parallel to the catch rail and the catch lever is equipped with a magnet interacting with the induction strut so that a linear eddy current brake is formed, which exercises a slight braking force counteracting the upward motion of the car upon the catch lever, which, because of the torque linked therewith, is moved out of the catch rail, so that it essentially floats over the catch rail.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a balloon occlusion device that comprises a cannula (1) and an occlusion device (3) to which a dialation liquid is fed. A core base (6) is disposed in the interior of the cannula (1) and reduces the volume in the interior of the cannula (1) and the mechanical flexibility of the cannula (1), thereby requiring less dilatation liquid and making the device easier to handle.
