Abstract:
A strap may have a strip of material. A flexible magnet and other layers may be embedded between outer layers of the strip. The outer layers may be formed from leather or other natural materials, fabric, polymer, or other materials. The strap may have a snap mechanism that removably couples the strap to the item. The strip may have left and right portions that are coupled together using sliders and the snap mechanism. The sliders may be fixedly attached to respective end portions of left and right portions of the strip. A first of the sliders may have a slot that allows the first slider to slide along the right strip portion and a second of the sliders may have a slot that allows the second slider to slide along the left strip portion so that the length of the strap may be adjusted.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a locking assembly for an attachment system of a consumer product. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an attachment unit that is configured to be inserted and removed from a housing of a consumer product. The attachment unit and/or the housing include an expansion component or other such locking assembly configured to releasably secure the attachment unit within the housing.
Abstract:
Clasp assemblies for bands (e.g., for watches) are disclosed. In some embodiments, a clasp assembly may include a plurality of pivotally interconnected links, where respective links are releasably coupled to one another, and spring assemblies disposed between respective links impart biasing forces between the respective links. In some embodiments, a clasp assembly may include a clasp body, a clasp cover, and a connecting arm pivotally coupled to the clasp body at a first end of the connecting arm, and pivotally coupled to the clasp cover at a second end of the connecting arm. The clasp assembly may include springs, magnets, elastomer members, and/or other mechanisms, components, or assemblies that impart a biasing force between the clasp body, the connecting arm, and/or the clasp cover.
Abstract:
A wearable band includes a woven material having two or more stretch regions. The different stretch regions can be formed by varying the tension on subsets of the warp threads, the weft threads, or both the warp and weft threads. A system for producing the woven material can include two or more tension control devices operably connected to a processing device. Each tension control device is configured to adjust the amount of tension in a respective subset of threads (e.g., warp threads) in the woven material during a weaving operation. The processing device is configured to select thread tension patterns for the subsets of threads used during the weaving operation. Each thread tension pattern includes tension settings for the subsets of threads, where at least one tension setting in one thread tension pattern differs from the tension settings in the other tension patterns.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system and method for providing haptic output for an electronic device. In certain embodiments, a type of haptic output is provided based on a determined orientation, position, and/or operating environment of the electronic device. Specifically, the electronic device may receive input from one or more sensors associated with electronic device. Once the input from the one or more sensors is received, an orientation, position and/or operating environment of the electronic device is determined. Based on the determined orientation of the electronic device, a type of haptic output is selected and provided.
Abstract:
A wearable blood pressure measurement device includes a first set of one or more sensors, a second set of one or more sensors, and a processor. The processor is configured to obtain, from the first set of one or more sensors, a first set of one or more sensor outputs indicative of a blood pressure of a wearer of the wearable blood pressure measurement device. The processor is also configured to obtain, contemporaneously with obtaining the first set of one or more sensor outputs and from the second set of one or more sensors, a second set of one or more sensor outputs indicative of a set of one or more conditions under which the first set one or more sensor outputs is obtained.

Abstract:
A watchband can comfortably secure an electronic device to a wrist of a user. The watchband can include a base having a contact surface opposite an engagement surface, contact loops on the contact surface for contacting a user, and engagement loops on the engagement surface for engaging hooks. The hooks can be provided on the engagement surface, opposite some of the contact loops. The base can include base threads, and the contact loops and engagement loops can be formed by contact threads and engagement threads woven about some of the base threads between the contact surface and the engagement surface. Between adjacent engagement loops, the engagement thread can be more securely attached to the base than is the contact thread between adjacent contact loops.
