Abstract: A medium molecular polyisobutene composition has a number-average molecular weight Mn of more than 10000 and up to 100000 g/mol with a high content of tetra-substituted double bond isomers from 20% to 75% in sum. The polyisobutene composition shows a high reactivity in thermal and/or photoreactions and/or radical backbone functionalisation and/or chlorine-based functionalisation.
