Abstract: The present application relates to activated carbon compositions for removing viral, bacterial, or other infectious particles from air. The activated carbon was found to be effective at filtering aerosolized bacteriophage particulates and could be applied to barrier materials which prevents viral particulates from passing through, for example in home filters or masks or other coverings to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
