Abstract: An image fixing apparatus includes magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic flux: a heating member generating heat by induction heating by the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic field generating means; and a blocking plate, disposed for movement between the magnetic field generating means and the heating member, for blocking the magnetic flux from the magnetic field generating means, wherein the blocking plate comprises an electroconductive member having a thickness of 0.1-2 mm.
