    Abstract: A fluid end assembly includes a fluid end and a plurality of valve assemblies each located within a cavity that has curved internal profiles. The curved internal profiles of the cavities are concaved outward. A plunger is included to provide variations in pressure within the fluid end so as to facilitate movement of the working fluid. A discharge plug is included in communication with the fluid end. The discharge plug may include a curved profile along an inner surface that corresponds with one of the cavities therein. A suction plug is releasably coupled to the fluid end and includes a curved profile along an inner surface. The suction plug also includes a recess for acceptance of a spring retainer. The spring retainer is included to support a suction valve assembly.

The valve assembly configured to reduce the effects of wear and erosion of the seal and valve body by including material with increased hardness. The supplemental material has a higher hardness level than the valve body and is inserted on the contact surface of the valve body. The seal can include a plurality of materials, each having different hardness levels. The location of the supplemental material can vary and the overall radial distribution on the contact surface may vary.

    Abstract: A sealed nut assembly includes a nut portion and a plug portion integrally formed together as a single unit. The nut assembly is configured to seal a bore hole in a fluid end and prevent leakage of working fluid therein. The assembly includes a nut portion and a plug portion. The nut portion and plug portion are inserted and removed together. The nut portion engages the fluid end prior to the setting of the plug portion. A seal groove is included in the plug portion to locate one or more seals. The contact surface between the nut assembly and the fluid end is tapered.

    Abstract: A frac pump valve seat assembly includes a seat body and a wiper seal. The seat assembly is configured to mitigate the risk of fluid end erosion in the valve seating area by automatically clearing or wiping the mating surface of the fluid end at the time of installation. The wiper seal is located at a lower portion of the seat body and is designed to interface therewith the mating surface of the fluid end. Upon installation, the wiper seal scrapes or cleans the mating surface of propellants, sand, and other contaminants that may remain after initial cleaning. The contact surface of the seat body is optionally further reinforced with material implants with greater hardness than the material of the seat body.
