Abstract: The heliograph comprises a light guide having an elbowed upper portion and driven in uniform rotational motion about an axis parallel to the earth''s axis at an angular velocity which exceeds the velocity of rotation of the earth on its axis, a stationary photodetector placed beneath the lower end of the guide, and electronic means for analyzing the electrical signals delivered by the photodetector.
