    Abstract: The technology described herein relates to a system and device for saturating an absorbent wicking nib with at least two inks transferred from at least two ink donor structures, to provide a multicolor marker nib. In aspects, a wicking nib device is configured to orient the saturated marking nibs of two different-colored, saturated marker nibs directly adjacent opposing side portions of a porous wicking nib, such that the porous wicking nib simultaneously wicks ink from both contacted marker nibs to create a dual-color marking nib. The wicking nib device may include an aperture for viewing the wicking action.

The marking device includes a multi-component nib structure, an ink source. The multi-component nib structure generally includes a first nib component, a second nib component, and optionally, a transfer component between the first nib component and the second nib component. In other aspects, the multi-component nib structure may allow lettering with different tones creating, for example, an ombre effect.

    Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to a substrate having resist zones adjacent to non-resist zones on a first surface of the substrate that cooperate to define a “hidden” image. The non-resist zones are zones on the substrate that absorb a colored fluid such as ink applied using a marker and the like. The resist zones are zones on the substrate that do not absorb/repel the colored fluid from the substrate such that the colored fluid can be wiped off of the surface the resist zones. Once all the resist zones are cleaned off and the non-resist zones are colored in, the “hidden” image is revealed to a user. Aspects herein are also directed to kits that include, for example, a plurality of substrates that include the properties of the substrate described above, and one or more colored fluid delivery tools, and cleaning tools for wiping the colored fluid from the resist zones.
