Abstract:
There is disclosed a system for sharing power among interconnected tools which is made up of multiple battery-powered tools, each with a battery. Each tool and its battery are electrically connected to a hub, and the hub is adapted to provide charging current to each battery, to monitor the charge level of each battery and to direct current from one battery with a higher charge level to a battery with a lower charge level. The system is also adapted to enable the hub to direct power to corded electric tools.
Abstract:
A power drop assembly is disclosed which, in general, includes a power cord housing, a reel, a power cord, a female power outlet, an electrical input, switching circuitry, and a controller. The reel is positioned within the power cord housing. The reel is rotatably connected to the power cord housing. The power cord is mechanically attached to the reel. The female power outlet is mechanically and electrically attached to the power cord. The switching circuitry is electrically connected to the electrical input. The switching circuitry selectively, electrically connects the electrical input and the power cord. The switching circuitry is electrically connected to the power cord. The controller is communicatively connected to the switching circuitry for controlling the switching circuitry. The controller is also connected to circuitry programmed for regulating the amount of power available to the power cord. The switching circuitry and the regulating circuitry determine whether power is available and how much power is available. The switching circuitry may also be configured to act as a circuit breaker.

Abstract:
A fan assembly is disclosed. The fan assembly is comprised of a fan with a motor and a blade as to create an airflow, and an actuator which is adapted to move the fan in vertical and horizontal directions, such that the fan directs airflow below it. The fan further comprises a controller adapted to control the adapter, and a remote control which is adapted to control the controller. The remote control sends signals to direct the controller, and both are adapted such that the movement of the fan can be programmed to a path set by a user and can also be manipulated to a static position set by the user. Preferably, the remote control is a smart device, such as a smart phone.
Abstract:
A method of calibration transfer for a testing instrument includes: collecting a first sample; generating a standard response of a first instrument based, at least in part, on the first sample; and performing instrument standardization of a second instrument based, at least in part, on the standard response of the first instrument. Data corresponding to a second sample is then obtained using the second instrument and a component of the second sample is identified based, at least in part, on a calibration model.
Abstract:
Techniques for enhancing the security of a communication device when conducting a transaction using the communication device may include receiving a cryptogram generation key replenishment request that includes transaction log information derived from transaction data stored in a transaction log on a communication device, verifying that the transaction log information in the replenishment request is consistent with the previously received transaction information, and providing a new cryptogram generation key to the communication device in response to verifying the transaction log information in the replenishment request.
Abstract:
A segmented solar module is disclosed. One or more Photovoltaic (PV) submodules are connected together with embedded parallel wiring that facilitates the sharing of power from a plurality of PV submodules to power one or more electrical devices. Each one of the two or more first submodules cover a surface area more than twice the size of the surface area covered by a second submodule. This allows the second submodule to be isolated from the first submodules to accommodate shading of the second submodule. Control electronics within each individual PV submodule allows the isolation of PV modules that are shaded or otherwise not productive. No external connecting wiring, or devices are required to make the system functional. All wiring, connectors and electronics are integral and embedded within each individual PV module. The PV modules have adhesive on the back to allow them to be installed without additional mounting hardware. All submodules, wiring and electronic components are completely encapsulated together in one solar module.
Abstract:
A maximum settable dose feature is disclosed that is set by a user or health care professional one time that prevents future injections from exceeding the desired maximum dose. The feature includes a locking band (5) initially in an unlocked configuration, which transforms to a locked configuration when activated after setting a desired maximum dose. The feature can include a trigger mechanism (6,11) to transform the locking band (5) to the locked configuration.
Abstract:
A drive member for driving a piston rod in a drug delivery device is provided. The drive member is configured to be driven in a rotational movement by an actuating member. The drive member comprises a track for transmitting a driving load from the actuating member to the drive member. The track comprises both sections running in a distal and sections running in a proximal direction of the drive member. Moreover, a drug delivery device comprising such a drive member is provided.
