Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for QoS negotiation for uplink and downlink traffic. A network device receives a Stream Classification Service (SCS) request from an associated station (STA). The SCS request comprises one or more sets of traffic class (TCLAS) information and a preferred traffic identifier (TID) value for a data flow transmitted between the STA and the network device. The network device determines a type of service of the data flow by analyzing the one or more sets of TCLAS information. The network device confirms that the type of service does not align with the preferred TID value under one or more defined network policies. In response to the confirmation, the network device sends an SCS response to the STA comprising adjustments of at least one of the one or more sets of TCLAS information or the preferred TID value to a new TID value.

Abstract: Techniques for intelligent multi-link operation (MLO) mode selection are provided. One or more metrics for wireless communication in a wireless network is collected. A set of multi-link operation (MLO) modes available for the wireless communication between a station multi-link device (STA MLD) and a first access point multi-link device (AP MLD) in the wireless network is determined. A first MLO mode of the set of MLO modes is selected based on the one or more collected metrics. The wireless communication is performed using the selected first MLO mode.

Abstract: A signaling mechanism is provided that includes a restricted random access resource unit (XRA RU) that restricts uplink random access, such as by using Uplink Orthogonal frequency-division multiple access-based Random Access (UORA), to a subset of a plurality of stations that are associated with an Access Point (AP). In one aspect, an AP allocates a resource unit as an XRA RU that restricts uplink random access to a subset of a plurality of stations (STAs) that are associated with the AP. The AP transmits an uplink trigger that includes the XRA RU. The AP restricts use of the XRA RU to the subset of the plurality of STAs. In this way, STAs of the subset can attempt contention-based random access with the XRA RU while other STAs are prevented from attempting random access with the XRA RU.

Abstract: A preemption service in a wireless network is described. The preemption network increases the reliability of preemption traffic to be quickly delivered over the wireless network. The active preemption service in wireless networks causes the devices in a wireless network to enter a low transmit power state where every device transmits at a power lower than a high or maximum transmission power. Preemption traffic is transmitted from authorized devices at a high or maximum power, over the lower power transmissions, in order to provide an increased guarantee that the preemption traffic will arrive at the intended recipient.

Abstract: Techniques for improved mobility support in wireless networks are provided. A first beacon from a first wireless AP is received, where the first beacon comprises a network identifier (NID) and a service set identifier (SSID). A client device associates to the first wireless AP. Based on the NID, a set of services supported by the first wireless AP are determined. A second beacon is received from a second wireless AP, where the second beacon comprises the first NID, and the client device associates to the second wireless AP based on determining, based on the NID, that the second wireless AP supports the set of services.

Abstract: Techniques for improved peer-to-peer communication are provided. A wireless access point (AP) may initiate peer-to-peer communication between multilink peer-to-peer devices by sending a trigger frame addressed to the peer-to-peer devices to hand over a transmission opportunity (TXOP). The trigger frame is sent based on the AP's knowledge of the availability of the peer-to-peer devices for peer-to-peer communication. The trigger frame indicates a link to be used for the peer-to-peer communication. In response to receiving the trigger frame one or more of the peer-to-peer devices acknowledge the trigger frame, tune to the assigned link, and use the remaining portion of the TXOP for peer-to-peer communication.

Abstract: Techniques for improved peer-to-peer communication are provided. A roaming peer-to-peer device may identify a new access point (AP) and initiate a transition to the new AP. Initiating transition can involve sending, to the new AP, the current peer-to-peer communication schedule for approval and/or negotiating a modified peer-to-peer communication schedule with the new AP. When the roaming peer-to-peer device and the new AP agree on the peer-to-peer communication schedule, the peer-to-peer device may notify its counterpart that it has roamed to the new AP and also notify the counterpart of any updates to the peer-to-peer communication schedule.

Abstract: Techniques for resource unit (RU) allocation for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a first allocation of scheduled access (SA) and random access (RA) RUs for uplink from one or more wireless stations (STAs) to a wireless access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The techniques further include measuring one or more performance characteristics for the one or more STAs, determining a second allocation of uplink SA and RA RUs in the WLAN based on the measured one or more performance characteristics, and advertising the second allocation of uplink SA and RARUs to the one or more STAs.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless device roaming are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a wireless client entity for roaming from a first infrastructure entity to a second infrastructure entity. The techniques further include agreeing, between the client entity and the first infrastructure entity, on one or more roaming conditions defined using transition parameters for transition of a first data flow for the client entity from the first infrastructure entity to the second infrastructure entity, the one or more transition parameters including a sequence number relating to the dataflow. The techniques further include determining that a first condition defined in terms of a transition parameter of the agreed one or more roaming conditions is met, and, based on the determining, transitioning from providing the first dataflow from the first infrastructure entity to the client entity to providing the first data flow from the second infrastructure entity to the client entity.

Abstract: Techniques for sounding for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include initiating staggered sounding between a plurality of wireless access points (APs) and a plurality of wireless stations (STAs), including transmitting, from each AP of the plurality of APs, a sounding trigger to a respective one or more of the plurality of STAs, where the sounding triggers are transmitted by the respective APs at staggered times. The techniques further include receiving sounding matrix data at the plurality of APs from the plurality of STA. The techniques further include modifying wireless transmission between at least one of the APs and at least one of the STAs based on the sounding matrix data.
