    Abstract: Alkoxylates are described that are obtainable by (i) in a first step reacting a) one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of phenols that are substituted with one substituent, wherein the one substituent is in the ortho-, meta- or para-position to the OH group of the phenol and is selected from the group consisting of OH, R8, OR8, F, Cl, Br, I, CN, NO2 or COOR9, wherein R8 is a linear or branched alkyl group with 1 to 4 C-atoms and R9 is a linear or branched alkyl group comprising 1 to 22 C-atoms or a linear or branched mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl group comprising 2 to 22 C-atoms with b) an aryl-substituted linear or branched C1-C3 alkyl alcohol or an aryl-substituted linear or branched C2- or C3-alkene, and (ii) in a second step alkoxylating the reaction product of the first step and (iii) in an optional third step reacting the reaction product of step (ii) with an alkylating agent providing a C1-C4 alkyl group, with a carboxymethylating agent, with a sulfating agent, with a phosphating agent or with a sulfosuccinating agent. These alkoxylates may advantageously be used as anti-redeposition agents in laundry applications.

    Abstract: Alkoxylates according to the following formula (I) are described, wherein X is selected from ethoxy and mixtures of ethoxy and propoxy groups, T is selected from the group consisting of H, C1-C4 alkyl, SO3−, CH2—COO−, sulfosuccinate and PO32−, R1, R2 and R4 are H, CO—NR8R3 or COO—[X1]v—R3, whereby two of the substituents R1, R2 and R4 are H and the third of these substituents is CO—NR8R3 or COO—[X1]v—R3, R8 is H or a linear or branched alkyl group with 1 to 4 C-atoms, R3 is a linear or branched saturated alkyl group with 6 to 30 carbon atoms, a linear or branched mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl group with 6 to 30 carbon atoms, an aryl group with 6 to 10 carbon atoms, a group (CH2CH2O)maryl, wherein the aryl group comprises 6 to 10 carbon atoms and m, on a molar average, is a number from 1 to 100, or an aryl-substituted linear or branched C1-C3 alkyl group wherein the aryl group comprises 6 to 10 carbon atoms, but in the case, that R1 and R4 are H and R2 is COOR3, R3 can only be an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or a group (CH2CH2O)maryl as defined above, X1 is selected from ethoxy and mixtures of ethoxy and propoxy groups, u on a molar average, is a number of from 3 to 100, and v on a molar average, is a number of from 0 to 20. The compounds of formula (I) may advantageously be used as anti-redeposition agents in laundry applications.

    Abstract: What are described are compositions comprising a) one or more sugar amines of the formula (I) in which R1 and R2 are independently H, CH3 or 2-hydroxyethyl and/or one or more corresponding protonated sugar amines with the counterion R—COO— in which R is defined as R from the substances of component b) below, and b) one or more substances selected from the group consisting of fatty acids of the formula R—COOH, fatty acid salts of the formula R—COO-M+ and mixtures thereof, in which R is a linear or branched saturated alkyl radical having 11 to 21 carbon atoms or a linear or branched, mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl radical having 11 to 21 carbon atoms and M+ is a counterion. The compositions described are very advantageous, for example, for production of liquid washing compositions, and of shower gels, liquid soaps or face cleansers. In addition, the sugar amines are advantageously suitable as neutralizing agents for fatty acids.
