Abstract: A high-pressure pump control device is applied to an internal combustion engine including a high-pressure pump supplied with fuel discharged from a low-pressure pump and an injector supplied with fuel discharged from the high-pressure pump. The high-pressure pump control device includes a prediction unit predicting whether a discharge quantity of the high-pressure pump exceeds a discharge quantity of the low-pressure pump and a restricting unit executing a discharge quantity restriction control to restrict a discharge quantity of the high-pressure pump not to exceed a predetermined value when the prediction unit predicts that a discharge quantity of the high-pressure pump exceeds a discharge quantity of the low-pressure pump.

Abstract: When a cam shaft phase is changed during engine operation is stopped, a power supply increase control to an electric motor is carried out, according to which a power-supply duty ratio to the electric motor is increased to a predetermined power increase value which is necessary for moving a VVT apparatus during the stop of the engine operation. Then, the power-supply duty ratio is feedback controlled so that an actual changing speed of the cam shaft phase becomes equal to a target changing speed. As a result, the cam shaft phase can be surely changed and operating sound can be reduced by preventing the changing speed of the cam shaft phase from becoming too fast.

Abstract: A control device is applied for an internal combustion engine which is provided with a high-pressure fuel pump driven by a driving shaft of the internal combustion engine to discharge a fuel pressurized in a pressurizing chamber, an accumulator accumulating a high-pressure fuel discharged from the high-pressure fuel pump, and a relief valve which is opened when a fuel pressure in the accumulator is higher than a specified pressure in order to return the fuel in the accumulator to a specified chamber where a fuel has lower pressure than a fuel in the pressurizing chamber. An idle speed of the internal combustion engine is increased to a specified speed when the fuel pressure in the accumulator has been higher than a determination pressure, which is lower than the specified pressure, for a first period or longer.

Abstract: A control device for a high-pressure pump includes: a determination unit, an acquisition unit, and an electric power setting unit. The determination unit determines whether a movable portion of an electromagnetic valve has been moved to a closed position to close the electromagnetic valve when the electromagnetic valve is energized. The acquisition unit acquires, as an electromagnetic-valve response time, a period of time from a start of the energization of the electromagnetic valve until when it is determined that the electromagnetic valve has been closed. The electric power setting unit sets a supply power to the electromagnetic valve by repeating a process in which the supply power to the electromagnetic valve is reduced so as to be smaller than a previous value until the electromagnetic-valve response time reaches a predefined upper limit value.

Abstract: A control system for a variable valve timing apparatus that changes a valve timing of an internal combustion engine using a motor which is controlled by operating a switching element includes: an oil temperature estimating portion; a substrate temperature estimating portion; and a current limit controller. The oil temperature estimating portion estimates a temperature of lubricating oil of the engine. The substrate temperature estimating portion estimates a temperature of a substrate to which the switching element is mounted based on the temperature of the lubricating oil. The current limit controller limits a current flowing through the switching element based on the temperature of the substrate in a manner that a temperature of the switching element is restricted from exceeding a predetermined upper limit value.
